In Maharashtra, a clarification has been presented once again over the dispute arising over Maratha reservation. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde clearly stated clearly that the process of giving a certificate of Kunbi caste to the eligible people of the Maratha community has only been simplified and there is no question of any new reservation decision. He said that the OBC class will not suffer any kind of damage from this mandate (GR). This statement has come amid the displeasure and controversy of OBC leaders.

Controversy over GR and resentment of Bhujbal

Minister of State Chhagan Bhujbal had called a meeting of OBC leaders, objecting to GR. He argued that this step could affect the rights of the OBC community. On this, Shinde made it clear that Bhujbal has already been assured that the mandate will not affect the interests of the OBC and his reservation quota. The government has simplified only the process of distribution of certificates.

Under the provisions of Hyderabad Gazetteer, eligible members of the Maratha community have been allowed to apply for the Kunbi certificate. On this issue, Vikhe Patil, the head of the sub-committee of the state cabinet, spoke to the Maratha agitator Manoj Jarange. After this, Jarang finished the fasting movement in Mumbai on 2 September. Shinde said that since 2012 there is a provision to issue a clan certificate, the government has simplified the process of implementing it only.

During the visit to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Shinde while addressing Shiv Sena workers and MLAs said that there will be no cut in the rights of the OBC class. He reiterated, “We have not taken any new decision, only the process has been easier.” The Maratha families who have historical records will be given kunbi certificates. ”After Shinde’s statement, there has been an attempt to calm the increased discomfort between Maratha and OBC communities.

Today is the fourth day of the Maratha reservation movement in Maharashtra. Manoj Jarange has sat on a hunger strike demanding 10% reservation for the Kunbi society. At the same time, with the increase in the movement, now political rhetoric has also intensified.

On the third day of the movement (31 August) Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has targeted Raj Thackeray. He said that he should have collected complete information before commenting on Maratha reservation.

At the same time, the leader of the Maratha Reservation Movement Manoj Jarang is on hunger strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai and has announced not to leave the movement until the Maratha society gets reservation in OBC quota.

Eknath Shinde responded to Raj Thackeray

Speaking to reporters during the Ganesh festival in Dera village of Satara district, Shinde said that Thackeray should also know why the Supreme Court canceled the reservation given by Devendra Fadnavis during 2014 to 2019, while the Supreme Court canceled the Supreme Court, while this law was found in the High Court.

He said that when he was the Chief Minister, his government had given 10 percent reservation to the Maratha society under the social and educationally Backward Class (SEBC) category. Apart from this, a committee was formed to find the references, which has benefited the Maratha society.

Shiv Sena ministers support

Deputy Chief Minister Shinde, who is also the head of Shiv Sena, has also got the support of his associate ministers Uday Samanta and Dada Bhusse. The two leaders claimed that during Shinde’s tenure not only the Maratha society got 10 percent reservation, but also appointed for vacant posts. He said that Shinde’s work has been historic for the Maratha society and it cannot be ignored.

In response to this, Raj Thackeray had said that why the movement of Jaranga again provoked, only Shinde can answer it, because the last time he himself intervened and resolved the matter.

Manoj Jarange’s movement continues

On the other hand, Manoj Jarang, leader of the Maratha Reservation Movement, has been sitting on a hunger strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai since Friday (August 29). He has clarified that they will not back down until the Maratha society is given reservation in the OBC category.

Jarang has claimed that the roots of the Maratha society are related to the farmer Kunbi society and on this basis they should be considered part of the OBC. This movement has once again created a sensitive and challenging situation in front of the state government.
