Women showed more enthusiasm than men; the voting percentage of women was 69.04 percent while that of men was 61.56 percent. Maximum 77.54 percent votes were cast in Meenapur seat, due to which it is expected that voter participation will be strong in the second phase also.

The 20 districts where voting is to be held in the second phase include the names of many big districts from West Champaran and East Champaran to Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Madhubani and Supaul. Voting will also be held in important areas like Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur and Banka in this phase. Apart from this, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Kaimur and Rohtas districts also fall in the voting areas.

The figures related to the second phase of elections are also special. In this phase, voting will be held on a total of 122 assembly seats, out of which 101 seats are of general category. 19 seats have been reserved for Scheduled Caste and 2 for Scheduled Tribe. The total number of voters is 3 crore 70 lakh 13 thousand 556. These include 1 crore 95 lakh 44 thousand 041 male voters and 1 crore 74 lakh 68 thousand 572 female voters. In this phase, 5 lakh 28 thousand 954 people will vote for the first time. A total of 45,399 booths have been made for voting. There are 1,302 candidates contesting in this phase, which include 1,165 male and 136 female candidates.

In the second phase, the reputation of many veteran leaders is at stake. Many ministers of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s cabinet are contesting in this round. Bijendra Prasad Yadav is contesting from Supaul, while Sumit Kumar Singh is trying his luck on Chakai seat. Nitish Mishra from Jhanjharpur and Jayant Raj from Amarpur are also in the election contest. Neeraj Kumar Singh ‘Bablu’ in Chhatapur, Renu Devi in Bettiah, Leshi Singh in Dhamdaha, Krishnanandan Paswan from Harsiddhi and Jama Khan from Chainpur seat are also among the prominent candidates in this phase.

In the second phase, candidates from many NDA parties are trying their luck in the field. The future of 53 BJP candidates will be decided in this phase. Apart from these, 44 candidates of JDU, 15 candidates of LJP (Ram Vilas), 4 candidates of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLMO) and 6 candidates of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) are also included in the election contest.

Talking about the Grand Alliance, in this phase RJD has fielded its candidates on 72 seats. Congress is contesting on 37 seats, while VIP has fielded candidates on 10 seats. Other allies are contesting on a total of 5 seats. Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, VIP chief Mukesh Sahni and CPI (ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya played prominent roles in the campaign.
