The Election Commission of India will announce the complete schedule of assembly elections in 5 states today at 4 pm on Sunday (15 March 2026). The election process will formally begin as soon as the schedule is announced. With the announcement of the program, the Model of Conduct i.e. Code of Conduct will also come into force. Meanwhile, the main opposition party Congress has alleged that allegations and counter-allegations and sharp political statements will be seen in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign during the election campaign. What will happen after the code of conduct is implemented?

After the implementation of the code of conduct, the government and political parties will have to follow the rules related to elections and the announcement of new schemes or major government decisions is banned. The date of voting, last date of nomination, date of counting of votes and other important information will be given in the program issued by the Election Commission. After this, all political parties and candidates will intensify their election campaigns.
