A massive fire broke out late on Sunday night (July 12, 2026) in Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, a popular pub in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. At least 27 people died and 63 others were injured in this accident. The condition of 22 people among the injured is said to be critical. The accident happened around midnight, when a large number of people were present in the pub. Within no time the fire spread rapidly and within a few minutes there was chaos in the entire area. The dense and poisonous smoke spread with the fire made it extremely difficult for people to come out. Many people got trapped inside and could not save their lives.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the site a few hours after the incident. He confirmed that 27 people had died in the accident. The rescue team continued searching in different parts of the building till late night. Initial investigation revealed that the fire started from the air conditioner installed in the ceiling near the stage in front of the pub. According to officials, the fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit in the air conditioner and quickly spread throughout the complex. Within no time the pub was filled with smoke. Due to the smoke, people could not see anything in front and breathing also became difficult. Fire personnel said that many people died due to suffocation due to smoke rather than burning in the fire.

What did the fire brigade employee tell about the accident?

Fire brigade employee Chakrit Khongkom said that smoke had spread everywhere inside the pub. Most of the victims died due to smoke because they could not get out safely. Investigation has also revealed that the situation became worse due to the closure of the emergency exit. According to officials, crates of beer were kept in front of one fire exit, while tables were kept at the other exit. This made it almost impossible for people to come out. Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said that when the fire spread rapidly, people ran to the back of the pub to save their lives, where there were kitchens, bathrooms and emergency exits. However, due to blockage in the roads, many people could not come out and got stuck inside.

Rescue team recovered many bodies

The rescue team found bodies of many people in and around the toilet. From this it is being estimated that people kept trying to get out through the back way till the last moment, but could not succeed. Horrific pictures of the accident were seen in the videos that emerged from the spot and the body camera footage of the rescue team. Firefighters wearing oxygen masks were seen searching for people with the help of torches in smoke-filled rooms. The bodies and injured were taken out from among the burnt chairs, tables and debris. The bodies of the deceased were kept outside the pub with serial numbers for identification, while forensic teams worked throughout the night to collect evidence from the spot.

People who survived the accident shared their thoughts

People who survived the accident also shared painful memories of that night. 32-year-old Sukanya Wongwongwai said that the first smell she felt was like burning. One of her friends was singing on stage at that time. He was the first to see the roof on fire. Sukanya said that as the fire increased, the foam used for soundproofing started falling from the roof, injuring many people. After this, there was a stampede in the entire pub and people started running to save their lives. In the video of the incident, thick black smoke coming out of the building and high flames rising from the entry gate are clearly visible. In the video, people are seen running outside screaming.

There was chaos in an Indigo flight when a passenger tried to open the emergency exit door just before landing. This incident happened during landing at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi. According to officials, the flight was coming from Bengaluru to Varanasi at around 10:20 pm on Saturday (29 March 2026) and was about to land. Then suddenly a passenger tried to press the emergency exit button. Seeing the situation, the pilot immediately aborted the landing and took the plane back into the air, thereby averting any major danger.

A few minutes after the incident, the plane landed safely at around 10:35. During this time, an atmosphere of panic had arisen among more than 100 passengers on board the plane. According to the police, the accused has been identified as 26-year-old Mohammad Adnan. It was told that he had tried to tamper with the emergency gate some time after take off, but at that time the cabin crew had stopped him and calmed him down.

Accused handed over to CISF

After landing, the accused was handed over to the security agencies. First the airline’s security team and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detained him, after which he was handed over to the local police. During interrogation, the accused first made the strange claim that he was under the influence of a ghost, but later said that he did not know that the door could be opened by pressing the emergency button. In this case, the police have registered a case against the accused under the section of endangering people’s lives. After interrogation, he was given a notice and handed over to his family. At present the investigation of the case is going on.

Sleeper Bus Tragedy: A tragic incident took place in Ashoknagar, Madhya Pradesh on Saturday night. Actually, a sleeper bus which was going from Pichhor to Indore with passengers caught fire. It was fortunate that all the passengers were saved. But meanwhile a big question has arisen whether sleeper buses are safe or not. Let us know which countries around the world have already banned sleeper buses.

Countries that ban sleeper buses

China banned the manufacture and registration of new sleeper buses in 2013 after several serious fires and road accidents in 2012. Along with this, in 2006, Germany also banned sleeper coaches after several major accidents. Vietnam and England are also among the countries that have banned sleeper buses. All these countries had banned these buses for the same reason. This was because the design of these buses made it very difficult to evacuate people. Due to which many people lost their lives.

Why is it so difficult to get out of a sleeper bus

Actually, sleeper buses have a lot of berths. Along with this, it is also quite tight. In an emergency, it becomes almost impossible for passengers to move quickly. Along with this, the people sitting on the upper berths have to face more challenges in reaching the exit gate in case of panic.

Not only this, but the interiors of these buses are often made of flammable materials like foam, synthetic fabrics and plastic. These things, combined with the air conditioning circuit, allow a fire to spread within minutes. Along with this, many private bus operators make illegal modifications to the buses. To increase passenger capacity, additional berths are added or emergency doors are sealed. Because of this, there is more delay in rescue work during accidents. Along with this, due to the height and double deck design, sleeper buses are more likely to overturn during a sudden turn or collision.
