Bakrid will be celebrated across the country on Thursday (May 28, 2026). The government in Bihar is on alert mode regarding this. On Wednesday (May 27, 2026), Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit held a meeting with officials of all the districts through video conferencing. He directed to maintain tight security arrangements across the state on the occasion of Bakrid.

Pratyaya Amrit asked DM, SP, DIG and IG rank officers to keep the administration system on alert mode in view of Bakrid. The Chief Secretary said that like other festivals, Bakrid should also be celebrated without any tension and in a harmonious manner.

Instructions for flag march from early morning

Instructions were given that all the officers should take out flag march in their respective areas from the morning of Bakrid. Anti-social elements will be monitored and social media will also have to be kept a close watch. Districts should make complete preparations in advance to ensure that tension does not arise at any place.

What did the DGP of Bihar say?

On this occasion, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar said that this three-day long festival should be celebrated in a peaceful manner. Riot control force, police and district force personnel will conduct route marches at sacrifice sites and sensitive areas.

The DGP said that riot control vehicles and adequate body suits should be available. Special monitoring will be maintained in sensitive areas. The unruly people should be identified and taken into preventive custody. Instructed all police stations to increase continuous patrolling, especially night patrolling. If any suspicious situation or activity is seen, immediate action should be taken against it.

On the other hand, DG (Special Branch and STF) Kundan Krishnan said that police officers in all the districts should start flag march from 4 am. Religious places with mixed population should be constantly monitored to maintain harmony. Officials were instructed to work in coordination at the local level and take immediate action in case of any untoward incident.
