Engineer Rashid, MP from Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, has claimed that he has been tried to attack Tihar Jail. He told his lawyer Javed Hubbi that the Tihar Jail administration has devised new ways to harass Kashmiri prisoners. Eunuchs are deliberately kept in their barracks. They are encouraged to incite, attack and create hostile atmosphere.

According to Awami ItiHad Party (AIP) statement, the lawyer claimed after meeting Rashid in jail, “Engineer Rashid was attacked when a group of eunuchs pushed them to gate and dropped them on them. He survived somehow. It could prove fatal. This is nothing short of a planned attempt to harm them. ”

Engineer Rashid also causes trouble at the time of Namaz

He also claimed, “When Kashmiri prisoners start reciting Namaz, the oppression crosses its limits and is deliberately disturbed and provoked. The eunuchs have been declared HIV positive and are deliberately placed with Kashmiri prisoners. ”

Awami Etihad Party demands an inquiry

Engineer Rashid said that among the Kashmiri prisoners, Ayub Pathan of Birwah, Bilal Mir of Qamarwari and Aamir Gojri of Srinagar were attacked by eunuchs. Along with this, insulted the Arshid Tanch of Kupwara.

Engineer Rashid’s party Awami EtiHad Party (AIP) has expressed concern about this whole matter and demanded an independent inquiry. Also, the jail administration has demanded accountability, safety of all Kashmiri prisoners and immediate guarantee of dignity.

Engineer Rashid is accused of providing financial assistance to terrorist activities. The NIA arrested him under the illegal activity (prevention) Act i.e. UAPA. Since 2019, he is lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi. He contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from jail itself and won.

Hurriyat Conference President Mirwaiz Umar Farooq urged the Center to resolve the ‘distance’ between New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir on Friday (August 01) through negotiations and said that the issues cannot be resolved using violence or force. Addressing the people gathered to pray at the historic Jamia Mosque here, Mirwaiz also welcomed the united stand of MPs of Kashmir in Parliament. Referring to the three MPs of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that he expressed the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, ‘A few days ago, after the heinous incident of Pahalgam in Parliament, there was a debate on the Indo-Pakistan war. Different views were given by different political parties of India about war, its objectives and success-failure. “He said that very few MPs and most of the opposition talked about the human aspect of war, its cost and his relationship with Jammu and Kashmir, ‘which reflects the mentality and mood of the time.’ ‘

Mirwaiz mentioned three MPs from Jammu and Kashmir

Hurriyat Conference President Mirwaiz further said, “Three MPs from Jammu and Kashmir (Mian Altaf, Engineer Rashid and Aga Ruhullah) were the only ones who highlighted the deep concerns and plight of the people at the center of the original problem and the current debate.

NIA opposed the petition
On Tuesday, March 25, the NIA and Delhi Police, while presenting their stand in the High Court, said that it is not the constitutional right of any MP that they should join the session. The NIA said that Rashid Engineer has been facing serious allegations. What will happen if he says something in Parliament? If he gives a political statement, then there will be a problem.
