After 12th, the biggest question before every student is where to pursue further studies. Many students of the country dream of taking admission in big institutions like Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). But it is very important to know which of these three institutes is better for which career.

Success doesn’t come from college alone
It is important to understand that merely getting admission in a big name college does not lead to success. Success comes through hard work, skill, dedication and right direction. Therefore, choose any university keeping in mind your interest, ability and future goals. Let us know which is the better option for whom.

Why is IIT considered a great option?

If a student is interested in engineering, technology, computer science, artificial intelligence or research, then IIT is considered to be the best option. The IIT institutes of the country are famous for their level of education, modern labs and excellent placements. Students studying from here get job opportunities in big companies in the country and abroad.

To get admission in IIT, one has to pass a difficult examination like JEE. Every year lakhs of students take part in it, but success is achieved only by those who work hard continuously. If your dream is to make a big career in technical field, then IIT can be the right path.

For which students is JNU better?

If a student is interested in political science, history, sociology, language, international relations or research, then JNU is a strong option. This university is known for its academic environment and in-depth study. Many students also prepare for UPSC and other competitive examinations here.

The study environment in JNU is considered serious and knowledge based. This can prove to be a good platform for students who want to make a career in teaching, administrative service, research or social fields.

Also read – UPSSSC Vacancy: Good news for 12th pass youth, recruitment process for 700+ posts in UP will start soon.

Why is DU the most balanced option?

Delhi University i.e. DU is a great option for those students who want to do commerce, arts, science, management or general graduation. Many colleges of DU are included among the top colleges of the country. Along with studies, there are good opportunities for internship, debate, theatre, sports and networking here.

Commerce students can progress in fields like B.Com, Economics, CA, MBA. There are good courses available here for Arts and Science students too. The advantage of studying in Delhi is that students get more opportunities for competitive exams and jobs.

Which option is right for which goal?

If your aim is engineering and high package job, then IIT is a better option. If you want to make a career in UPSC, research or social subjects, then JNU is right. At the same time, if you want to keep many career options open and want a balanced college life, then DU is considered a good option.

AICTE, the country’s largest organization related to technical education, has taken an important decision. AICTE has asked all its affiliated colleges to consider students educated through the Vedic education system at par with students from other boards for admission to engineering courses. After this decision, a new debate has started regarding technical education.

Till now, students educated from Vedic Education Board were not able to take admission in technical courses like engineering. But after the new instructions of AICTE, this path has opened. The Commission has clarified that some certificates of Vedic Board will now be considered equivalent to Class 10 and Class 12. AICTE has given this information through a letter to the Vice-Chancellors of technical universities, state governments and about 9,000 recognized colleges across the country. It has been said in this letter that if the students passed from the Vedic Education Board fulfill the prescribed qualifications, then they should not be prevented from taking admission in engineering.

Which board is in discussion

This matter is related to Maharishi Sandipani National Veda Sanskrit Education Board (MSRVSSB). Students studying under this board were considered outside technical education till now. AICTE has now accepted ‘Ved Bhushan’ and ‘Ved Vibhushan’ certificates given by the board as equivalent to Class 10 and Class 12 respectively.

How is the curriculum of Vedic education?

The syllabus of MSRVSSB is mainly based on Vedas. In this, memorizing the mantras, verses and their meanings of the Vedas is important. Along with this, some studies of English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Computer are also imparted. In Vedic education, great importance is given to memorization and correct pronunciation.

What do AICTE rules say?

According to AICTE, for admission in engineering i.e. B.Tech, a student must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12. Now the Commission says that if the students passed from Vedic Board fulfill this qualification, then they should also be treated like the students of other boards. AICTE advisor N.H. Siddalinga Swamy has said in the letter issued on January 28 that students passing the examination from MSRVSSB should be given equal opportunity for admission in higher education institutions. It was also told in the letter that AIU has already recognized the qualifications of class 10 and 12 of this board.

The government also gave recognition

The Ministry of Education has also recognized MSRVSSB as a regular school board. The certificates given under this will now be considered at par with the certificates of other central and state boards of the country.

Vacant seats are also a reason

Experts believe that every year 30 to 40 percent seats remain vacant in engineering colleges. In such a situation, many private colleges may show interest in admitting Vedic Board students. This will fill the seats in colleges, but the quality of education may be affected.

All the countries in the world give special importance to education because everyone knows that only an educated citizen builds a country and creates the future of the country. All over the world, education is considered the foundation of developed countries and that is why different nations create a huge network of schools and colleges at their own level. However, an interesting question always remains in discussion, after all, which country has the highest number of schools and colleges in the world? And where does India rank in this list?

India’s population and education needs

India comes seventh in the world and number 1 in the world in terms of population. According to the survey, 46.9% of the total population of India is below 25 years of age, which makes India a young country. With such a large population receiving education, is the network or number of educational institutions in our country big enough to provide education to such a huge population?

Highest educational institute in India

You will be proud to know that India has the largest number of educational institutions (schools, colleges, universities) in the world. After India comes the United States and China. It is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records that the number of secondary schools in India is the highest in the whole world, where 139,539 educational institutions are available for children or students from class 9th to 12th, which shows that India is completely aware of education.

Total number of schools in India

There are approximately 15 lakh schools in India, which include schools at all levels of primary, upper primary, secondary and higher secondary, which are providing education to the vast population of India.

Higher education institutions of India

India also has a large number of institutions of higher education (colleges and universities) that are responsible for the future of India’s students, among which IITs, IIMs, NITs and IISC Bengaluru are elite and known throughout the world for their quality of education. There are more than 12,700 higher education institutions in the country, including more than 4,000 recognized universities. In some sources this number is also stated to be 5,000 to 8,000 universities.

America’s educational institutions

The number of higher educational institutions in the United States is approximately 4000, but according to the 2023 24 report, the number of higher educational institutions in America, which include higher degrees like Bachelor’s Degree and sometimes Master’s and Doctorate (PhD), is approximately 5,819. America is the first choice of every student in the world for higher education. There are world famous educational institutions here, which include world famous universities like Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Columbia.

China’s higher educational institutions

China ranks third in the world in the number of higher educational institutions. According to China’s Ministry of Education, there are 3,117 universities, colleges and other institutions of higher education, including 1,308 universities and colleges and 1,560 vocational and technical colleges, including major educational institutions such as Tsinghua University and Peking University.
