The fifth Test match will be played between India and England at Kennington Oval from 31 July. This is the last match of the Test series. The host is 2–1 in the England series. Earlier, England has suffered a big shock. Captain Ben Stokes is not playing the fifth Test. When England announced the playing XI, everyone was surprised to see the name of Stokes in it. Now Stokes has responded to missing the fifth Test.

Ben Stokes said, “This is a matter of assessing the risk-profit. The risk was so high that it could not be harmed by the current situation. I did not want so, and I do not expect any of my players to risk such injury. I will start rehabilitation and I will focus on whatever I want to do.

Stokes hopes that he will be fully fit in six to seven weeks before the Ashes in Australia. Stokes looked disappointed at not playing in the last Test match, but his funny tone remained intact. He said, this is a muscle injury, which I cannot pronounce because I do not know how to say (smiling). We took as much time as possible to take this decision.

Stokes told why not play as a batsman

Stokes further said, “I came here to see if I could play as a batsman or not. The possibility of bowling was over only after the results of the scan.

When Stokes was asked if he could manage the burden of his work in a different way, he refused. He said, “No, not at all. When I am on the field, I play to win and give my best. If I think there is a moment in the match where I have to puff everything, I will do this because this team matters a lot to me. Playing for England means to win, win to me.”
