The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 14 -member team for the fourth Test against India. Left arm spinner Liam Dason has got a chance in place of injured Shoaib Bashir. England have kept five fast bowlers in the team for the fourth Test. At the same time, the team is the only spinner in the team. At the same time, fast bowlers Jamie overton and Sam Cook have been dropped from the team.

Left -arm spinner Liam Dawson has been included in the team for the fourth Test to be played at Old Trafford, Manchester. Dawson has replaced Shoaib Bashir in the English team, who is out of the series due to fracture in the left hand finger.

35 -year -old Liam Dawson played the last Test match for England against South Africa in July 2017. For the last two years, he has been consistently performing well for Hampshire. He has won the PCA Player of the Year Award in 2023 and 2024. However, he has played only three Tests so far and has seven wickets in his name.

Luke Wright, the national selector of the England men’s team, said about the selection of Dawson, “Liam Dawson is entitled to a place in the team. His performance in the county championship has been excellent and he is consistently performing well for Hampshire.”
