Actually, the Employees Provident Fund Organization is preparing to launch a new dedicated mobile app in March-April 2026. Through which PF money can be transferred directly to the bank account through UPI. New EPFO ​​app will be different from Umang

According to officials, this new app will be different from the existing Umang app. It will be directly linked to the subscriber’s bank account and will work with other UPI apps including BHIM. Its purpose is to provide complete banking level facility for PF withdrawal. Under the new system, money will be directly transferred from the EPFO ​​account to the subscriber’s linked bank account. After this, members will be able to withdraw money immediately by entering the UPI PIN. At present this facility is not available and to withdraw PF one has to claim through UAN portal or Umang app which takes time.

The system is in trial mode

EPFO has started the trial of this new facility. Currently, testing is being done on about 100 dummy accounts, so that technical flaws can be removed in time. Officials say that after the completion of testing, the app can be rolled out by the end of March.

How much PF can be withdrawn?

According to the rules, members will be able to withdraw a maximum of 75 percent of their EPF balance. It will be mandatory to keep the remaining 25 percent amount in the account, so that the retirement fund remains safe. In case of loss of job, the same rules will apply. Apart from this, the remaining 25 percent PF can be withdrawn only after the stipulated time.

Big step towards EPFO ​​3.0

This new app is part of EPFO ​​3.0 upgrade. Under which emphasis is being laid on digital claims, fast verification and easy services. The total corpus of EPFO ​​is around Rs 26 lakh crore and there are around 30 crore subscribers associated with it. Out of which there are approximately 7.5 crore active members. Apart from this, it is believed that after the new UPI facility, it will become very easy and fast to withdraw PF money in case of illness, marriage, education or any emergency.

Epfo upi facility: If you work in government or any private sector and your PF is cut every month, then this news is for you. Actually, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is now going to intensify the process of PF claim through UPI.

Labor and Employment Secretary Sumita Davra said on Monday that UPI will be integrated into the EPFO ​​system by the end of May 2025. This will benefit 7.5 crore active EPF members, whose money will be transferred to PF account immediately.

What will be the new system?

Claims up to Rs 1 lakh are already automated, now it will be faster than UPI. Apart from this, account holders will be able to link EPFO ​​account in their UPI app (eg PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm). At the same time, auto-calm facility will also be available. That is, if the member is eligible, then the money will be deposited immediately. Talking about now, it takes 3 days for claim processing, after coming to UPI, you will get money in a few minutes.

Database and pension system improvement

EPFO has created a centralized database for the first time, which will take 2-3 weeks to be fully stable.

78 lakh pensioners will now get pension from any bank (earlier only a few banks were notified).

The Centralized Pension System has been implemented on the advice of RBI.

New schemes related to employment

The budget of Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme has been increased from 10,000 crores to 20,000 crore. Youth working, existing employees and platform workers will get the benefit. Under the online PMJAY scheme, platform workers will also get free health insurance.

How long will UPI get the facility?

EPFO has prepared a proposal by taking suggestions from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). By the end of May, the UPI will be launched after front and testing. Let me tell you, till now PF was being talked about withdrawing money from ATM. It was also instructed by the EPFO ​​that the facility with ATM will start in a few months. However, now if the PF account is directly linked to UPI, then there will hardly be the need of ATMs.
