Government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched 5G fixed wireless service. This home broadband service has been launched in Hyderabad, Telangana. Earlier this week, BSNL had informed about keeping its 5G service title Quantum 5G.

Private telecom companies Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio are already providing fixed wireless service using their 5G spectrum. BSNL Chairman and Managing Director, Robert J Ravi said, “Quantum 5GF WA shows how Indian engineers can create world-class connectivity. This is the first indigenous technology 5G FWA for BSNL without sim Will go. ”

A media Report According to this, initially the company is taking charge of Rs 999 for plan for 100 MBPS for this service and Rs 1,499 for 300 Mbps. In this service, a modem is installed outside the premises of the subscriber and signal is transmitted from a nearby base station for wireless broadband service. It does not require optical fiber for connection.

BSNL is also preparing to strengthen its 4G network. For this, the company can impose one lakh additional towers. Recently, the company completed the work of setting up one lakh 4G towers across the country. Minister of State for Communications Chandrasekhar Pemmasani had reported that the Telecom Department (DOT) will soon sought approval from the Union Cabinet for the expansion of BSNL’s 4G services. He had said, “After installing one lakh towers with Swedashi Equipment, we will contact the Union Cabinet and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek the approval of an additional one lakh towers.” The company also plans to increase equipment for 4G and 5G networks. The 5G network of private telecom companies is present in a large part of the country. To compete with these companies, BSNL needs to launch 5G service soon. This government telecom company is also considering monetting its assets to increase cash flow.

On the problems faced by BSNL’s 4G network, Pemmasani said that the company has used equipment made in the country and the problems faced in it will be corrected soon. BSNL has sought suggestions from public on the title for its 5G services. In the fourth quarter of the last financial year, BSNL recorded a net profit of about Rs 280 crore. This is the first time after 18 years when the company has acquired profit in two consecutive quarters. The company has helped to increase the revenue in the mobile segment with 4G service.

The company’s Ebitda margin has also increased. In the last financial year, the company’s operating revenue increased by about 7.8 percent to about Rs 20,841 crore. It was about Rs 19,330 crore in the last year. The company’s interconnect usage charge (IUC) has increased by six percent to about Rs 7,499 crore from the mobility services. <!--

Seven executives of the unit of South Korea’s electronics and devices maker Samsung have approached a court to reject a penalty of about 8.1 million dollars (about Rs 692 crore) from a court. This penalty is involved in a tax demand demand of about 60.1 million dollars (about Rs 5,135 crore) for the wrong classification of Samsung allegedly by Samsung.

A one of reates Report In the legal documents and a source, it has been told that these Samsung executives have argued that there was no ‘serious crime’. In January this year, the Tax Authority found that Samsung and some of its executives had incorrectly classified the import of a major equipment of a mobile tower between 2018 and 2021 saved tariffs. However, Samsung challenged this order in a tax appeal tribunal. The company had correct its classification of import and denied any disturbance.

In this case, a tax demand of about $ 52 million (about Rs 4,443 crore) was demanded from Samsung. Apart from this, some executives of the company were asked to pay a penalty of about 8.1 million dollars (about Rs 692 crore) to ‘know and deliberately’ in the wrong classification of the import. In an appeal filed in the High Court in Mumbai, Ravi Chadha, the logistics executive of the company’s unit in the country, has said that the two to three days of the penalty had issued a penalty order by Samsung and its executives, two to three days of receiving a detailed answer of hundreds of pages and “hasty” was issued by Ander Authorities of two to three days. This appeal has not been made public but Reuters have seen it. It states, “This period is very short to study deeply. The case is limited to the interpretation of the entries of tariffs. There has been no serious crime in it.” Chaddha was imposed a penalty of about $ 1.1 million (about 95 crore rupees).

In this regard, Samsung unit and Chaddha did not answer the questions sent by Reuters in the country. The Tax Authority has also not answered the request sent for comments. In this case, the online order of the court shows that six other executives of the company in this case have also challenged the order of Tax Authority. <!--

The number of subscribers of government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has increased. BSNL has received around 48,177 new subscribers in March. The first place of Reliance Jio in the telecom market remains intact. However, Vodafone Idea has suffered a major loss in terms of number of subscribers.

According to the data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio has received around 21.74 lakh new subscribers in March. The total number of subscribers of the company has increased to around 49.97 crores. The second largest telecom company Bharti Airtel has added about 12.50 lakh new subscribers in March. The total number of Airtel subscribers was about 38.98 crores at the end of March.

However, the difficulty for Vodafone Idea (VI) has increased. VI has lost about 5.41 lakh subscribers in March. Its total subscribers have come down to about 20.53 crores. Government telecom company BSNL has added about 49,177 new subscribers in March. BSNL had a total of about 9.10 crore subscribers at the end of March. In February, the company suffered a loss of over 5.60 lakh subscribers. The 4G network of BSNL may soon be launched across the country. Recently, Tata Group’s company Tejas Networks has completed the supply of telecom equipment for one lakh 4G sites to BSNL. This order was worth Rs 7,492 crore.

The BSNL aims to launch 4G service in June. After this, the company will upgrade 4G sites and launch 5G network. The company has used indigenous technology for 4G network. Recently, telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had reported that BSNL’s 4G network will be upgraded to 5G from June. India has joined five such countries in the world that have developed their 4G technology. The government aims to expand this expertise up to 5G. Earlier, the company was allowed to fund Rs 6,000 crore for expansion of 4G network to the central government. This fund will also be used for the company’s 4G network of subsidiary metropolitan telephone corporations (MTNL).
<!--

The 4G network of government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) can soon be launched across the country. Tata Group’s company Tejas Networks has completed the supply of telecom equipment for one lakh 4G sites to BSNL. This order was worth Rs 7,492 crore.

The BSNL aims to launch 4G service in June. After this, the company will upgrade 4G sites and launch 5G network. Tejas Networks It has been said that BSNL has been supplied telecom equipment for one lakh sites. The company received the deal after a detailed trial as part of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) -led consortium.

Earlier, funding of Rs 6,000 crore was approved to the company towards the central government for expansion of 4G network. This fund will also be used for the company’s 4G network of subsidiary metropolitan telephone corporations (MTNL). MTNL, which provides telecom services in Delhi and Mumbai, has control company.

The 5G network of big telecom companies like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel is present in a large part of the country. To compete with these companies, BSNL needs to launch 5G service soon. BSNL workers have prepared to protest against the delay in the launch of 4G services and 5G networks. The company’s workers are also angry with the poor performance of fiber-to-hom (FTTH) and delay in the Central Government’s Bharatnet project. BSNL workers will begin the performance on 16 May with the signature campaign. Millions of customers of this government telecom company have shifted to Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel’s network over the years. This has caused BSNL to suffer a major loss of revenue.

The Telecom Department (DOT) has released the rules related to security for satellite internet services in the country. Under these rules, the connection of users has been banned from a terminal outside the country’s border. Along with this, companies offering satellite internet service will not be able to process their data abroad.

In these rules, it has been made mandatory for companies providing this service to the ground segment of satellite network within a few years of starting business in the country. The race to start this service includes Billionaire Elon Musk’s Starlink, Bharti Group’s Investment Onweeb and Jio Satellite Communications.

Rules issued by DOT states that the company with a license for satellite internet service will have to take security clearance for special gateways and hub locations in the country. Recently, Starlinks tied up with the country’s big telecom companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. Telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said, “There are many remote areas in the country where fiber or mobile connectivity cannot be transported. If you do not have a satellite internet then how will you reach 100 percent coverage?” Along with this, he said that if natural disasters damage towers and fiber networks, then satellite connectivity is the only method.

Starlink has not received regulatory approval to start satellite internet service in India. Starlink is waiting for rules on spectrum pricing. However, obstacles for this company are removing. Recently, Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, invited Musk to start Starlink’s service. India is the second largest market of internet in the world. The charge for mobile internet in the country is much cheaper than other countries. Scindia had said that only companies providing satellite internet service will decide pricing for this. DOT has not given a license to any foreign company for this service.
<!--

Samsung, one of the large consumer electronics and smartphone companies, has challenged a tax demand of about $ 52 million (about Rs 4,380 crore) in India in a tribunal. This tax demand is allegedly associated with imports with wrong classifications of networking gear.

A report by Reuters quoted the documents related to the case as saying that Samsung has argued that the authorities were aware of this business method as Reliance has been importing this component for years in a similar way. Samsung is the second major foreign company to challenge tax demand in the country in the last few months. Earlier, Germany’s Volkswagen challenged a tax demand of about $ 1.4 billion (about Rs 11,796 crore) for import with the wrong classification of its component.

Earlier this year, Tax Authorities asked Samsung to pay $ 52 million for import with wrong classification of a major equipment of mobile tower. Tax authorities had said that the company had saved a tariff of 10–20 percent. Samsung has challenged this tax demand at the Customs Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal in Mumbai. The company has said that tax authorities were fully aware of this trading method as Reliance imported the equipment similar to any tariff for three years.

Samsung unit in the country has said that it was found in a tax -related investigation that Reliance was warned about it in 2017 but Reliance did not inform him about it. Samsung has said this in the filing submitted on 17 April. This document has not been made public but Reuters have seen it. Samsung and Tax Authority did not answer the questions sent by Reuters in this regard. Apart from this tax demand, the authorities have also fined the company’s seven workers about 8.1 million dollars (about Rs 682 crore). It is not known whether Samsung workers have challenged this fine separately.

He said that for the first time from June to February this year from June to February this year, about 8.55 crore subscribers of the company have increased to about 9.1 crore subscribers. The company has reduced the cost along with increasing its revenue.

BSNL has prepared to improve its services. For this, the company has determined April as ‘Customer Service Month’. In this, an attempt will be made to improve their experience by taking feedback from customers using the company’s services across the country. Recently, BSNL reported, “All circles and units of the company will participate in this campaign.” It aims to improve the quality of mobile networks, increase the reliability of fiber broadband (FTTH) and resolve customers complaints quickly. In April, feedback will be taken from Customers from BSNL’s website, social media channels and other circles. After this, this feedback will be reviewed by Robert J Ravi, chairman of BSNL.

The company’s 4G network will be upgraded to 5G from June. The company plans to launch around one lakh 4G sites by June. Of these, about 89,000 4G sites have been installed. Indigenous technology has been used for BSNL’s 4G network. India has joined five such countries in the world that have developed their 4G technology. The government aims to expand this expertise to 5G network. The company’s network can be allowed to bid foreign companies in a contract of about two billion dollars of telecom equipment for upgrade to 5G. If this contract includes foreign telecom equipment companies, then this will be a big change in the government’s stance.

Samsung, one of large electronics companies, has found it expensive to save tariffs on the import of telecom equipment in India. The company has been ordered to repay the previous tax and penalty of more than $ 60.1 million (about Rs 5,140 crore). It is one of the largest such tax demands in recent years.

Samsung, who has a large stake in the country’s consumer electronics and smartphone markets, was more than $ 95 million in India last year. It also imports telecom equipment through its network division. Samsung was also given a warning about two years ago about the wrong classification of Import to avoid tariffs. The company imported the telecom equipment and sold it to Reliance Jio, providing it to Billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Samsung also tried to stop the scrutiny of the case. The company had said that the equipment imported does not take tariffs.

However, the Customs Authorities had denied this argument of Samsung and issued an order regarding it. This order has not been made public but Reuters have seen it. This Order It has been said that Samsung has violated the laws of the country and deliberately presented wrong documents to the Customs Authorities for clearance. In this order, the Commissioner of Customs, Sonal Bajaj said that the investigation found that Samsung had broken all the moral values related to the business and the industry’s standard to maximize its profits.

In this order, seven Samsung executives in the country have also been fined $ 8.1 million. These executives include Vice President of Network Division, Sung Beam Hong, Chief Financial Officer, Dong Won Chu, General Manager (Finance), Sheetal Jain and General Manager (Indirect Taxes), Nikhil Aggarwal. In this regard, Samsung said in a statement that the issue is related to the interpretation of the classification of Goods by Customs. Along with this, the company has said that it follows the laws of the country.
