Ethanol Blended Petrol: Even though there may have been an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel some time ago, despite this a large number of people are still filling petrol in their vehicles. The government has released the data related to this in the Parliament, in which Uttar Pradesh has been at the forefront in purchasing petrol mixed with ethanol. These figures are for the financial year 2024-25.

Who is second in this list?

According to the data shared in Parliament, about 124.98 crore liters of ethanol mixed petrol was sold in UP in the financial year 2024-25. Now Maharashtra is at second place in this list with 110.66 crore litres. Talking about the third position, Tamil Nadu has been with 92.18 crores.

Why is the government increasing ethanol blending?
