A study in 2024 found that diabetes patients who were taking semaglutide, the risk of naion was 4 times more. At the same time, this danger was increased by 8 times in those taking weight loss. The European Medicine Agency has considered it a very rare side effect, that is, 1 of the 10,000 cases. In the recent study, the danger is not as much as it was thought before. Out of 1,59,000 diabetes patients, only 0.04 percent received naion. At the same time, some patients also saw diseases of other optic nerve.
