Former Director General of Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hami has been court martialed. Faiz Hami, a close aide of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for violating the Secrets Act. This is the first time that an officer who was the head of ISI has been court martialed. The current system of Asim Munir does not like any official close to Imran Khan.

The Pakistani Army issued a statement on Thursday (December 11, 2025) saying that former ISI Director General Faiz Hami has been accused of various charges including misuse of his position and authority, violation of the country’s secret documents. Apart from this, according to the documents published in the Pakistani Supreme Court in 2023, Faiz Hameed has also been accused of raiding the businesses of a private real estate developer, for which he has been sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment.

Faiz had served during the tenure of Imran Khan

ISPR, the Pakistan Army’s public relations department, said in a statement, “Faiz Hameed had served during the tenure of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently in jail, having been convicted for indulging in political activities and causing undue harm to people.”

“After a lengthy and arduous legal process, the accused has been found guilty of all charges and has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment as per the order announced on Thursday (December 11, 2025),” the statement said.

Faiz had taken retirement after the fall of Imran Khan from power.

Former ISI DG Faiz Hameed, considered a staunch supporter of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was once considered a contender for the post of Pakistani Army Chief, took pre-mature retirement just a few months after the fall of Imran Khan from power. After which Faiz was accused of violation of Pakistan Army Act in several cases and he was deprived of all his ranks.

A picture was revealed from a hotel in Kabul on September 4, 19 days after the Taliban takeover in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, in which Pakistan’s intelligence agency was seen drinking tea. It was alleged that after the return of the US Army from Afghanistan, the entire screenplay of removing the elected government from the Taliban was written by the then ISI chief of that time, named General Faiz Hameed.

According to information from Pakistan, the other two accused in the same case and his close retired officer Brigadier Ghaffar and retired brigadier Naeem Fakhar, who were once trusted, have become a government witness against Faiz Hameed against former ISI chief General Faiz Hameed. In fact, after the formation of Shahbaz Sharif’s government in Pakistan, an investigation into the misuse and corruption against Faiz Hameed started on the orders of the Supreme Court.

Faiz Hameed was accused of using ISI Chief’s chair for his personal business benefit and along with real estate businessman Malik Riaz, I had ISI money in the theme park project of billions of rupees. Also, through this project, Faiz Hameed had done the work of occupying the land and white money and made the entire project a base of money laundering. Along with this, many acres of land was captured under the guise of the project itself.

In the theme park project, Faiz Hameed also included his trusted officers Brigadier Naeem Fakhar and Brigadier Gaffar while holding the post. Brigadier Naeem Fakhar was appointed as Focal Person. Brigadier Ghafar was given an important post in ISI like Deputy General Manager (Projects) to place the then major control of ISI on the entire project. Apart from corruption, the former head of ISI is also accused that Faiz Hamid had planned a businessman and political face Sardar Tanveer Ilyas by Brigadier Naeem Fakhar, and also made Sardar Tanveer Ilyas the Prime Minister of Kashmir in Pakistan.

Faiz Hameed’s interfering in political activities
Faiz Hameed, along with his companions, is accused of scaming more than 7 thousand 284 crore Pakistani rupees. Now after both his close officers become government witnesses, the problems of the former ISI chief of Pakistan may increase further. Although Faiz Hameed, who is in military custody in Pakistan, is also accused of interfering in political activities, violation of official Secrets Act, violence of May 9, 2023 and violating Pakistan’s Army Act (Pakistan Army Act).

Faiz Hameed, who became the head of ISI after the removal of Asim Munir in 2019, was considered the real center of Pakistan’s power during the Imran Khan government. At the same time, sensitive intelligence information and post were used for personal and political gains. Hameed is also alleged to have played an important role in provoking and supporting the attack on military bases and government buildings on 9 May 2023 after Imran Khan’s arrest.
