On searching his house, the police found fake notes worth more than Rs 2 lakh, a computer, printer, punching machine, note cutting die, glue, screen plate, cutter, special paper, pencil, a steel scale, a light box and dot-stepping file, which were confiscated. The accused had previously worked in a printing press.

Additional DCP Zone-2 Gautam Solanki said that on November 14, the police received information that a youth wearing a black shirt was roaming in Nizamuddin area with fake notes of Rs 500 and was trying to circulate them in the market. The police laid a trap and took the youth into custody. First he introduced himself as Vivek Yadav, a resident of Karond, Bhopal. During the search, 23 fake notes of Rs 500 were recovered which looked exactly like genuine notes. Then there was a tough interrogation, only then he was exposed.

When the police checked his mobile phone, they found several videos of making fake notes. He told the police that he learned the entire process of making fake notes by watching these videos again and again. To make the notes look real, he learned the process in detail by watching videos several times. He also had experience of working in a printing press, due to which he had the understanding of correct color combination and cutting. He ordered special types of paper online, cut the sheets with a blade and marked them with a pencil.

Then he pasted the RBI strip on another piece of paper and joined the two sheets together. After printing the design, he cut the paper exactly like a Rs 500 note and prepared fake notes by adding the currency value and watermark on it.

According to the police, Yadav has till now circulated fake notes worth lakhs of rupees. After making the notes, he went to different areas away from his rented house, bought small things with fake Rs 500 notes and collected real notes in return. During interrogation, he confessed to circulating fake notes worth Rs 5-6 lakh in the market. On searching his house, the police recovered 428 fake notes of Rs 500, whose value was Rs 2,25,500.
