Pahalgam terrorist attack: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said on Monday (April 28, 2025) that Kashmiris threw the two nation theory in water in 1947 and said that their area would not go with Pakistan. Farooq Abdullah’s remarks came after the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people, including 25 Indians, were killed. The attack took place a few days after the two nation theory was raised by Pakistan’s Army Chief General Aseem Munir. Addressing a conference of migrant Pakistanis in Islamabad on 16 April 2025, General Munir said that Pakistan will stand with Kashmiri people in a struggle against Indian occupation.

He cited Jinnah’s Two Nation Theory, saying, “You will have to tell your children the story of Pakistan, so that they do not forget that our ancestors considered us different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life.”
