FASTag News: If you are also among those who keep commuting on the National Highway, now this journey is going to be expensive for them. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the rates of toll plazas on National Highways and Expressways from the financial year starting from April 1. This means that from the next 1st, you may have to loosen your pockets a bit while traveling on these. Let us tell you that there has been an average increase of 4-5 percent at toll plazas across the country.

Which routes will be affected?

Roots

Possible changes in toll

How much will it cost?

Delhi-Meerut Expressway

5% increase in LCV/Truck

The fare for a one-way journey for light vehicles including cars, jeeps, vans or light motor vehicles will be Rs 175, which was earlier Rs 170.
The return fare will be Rs 265, which was earlier Rs 255.

Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway

3-5 percent increase

There will be no change in toll charge for cars and it will remain around Rs 120. However, fares for larger vehicles like LCV/Truck will increase by Rs 5-15.

Delhi-Jaipur Highway

Increase of up to 5-20 percent

Increase in fares for commercial vehicles at major toll plazas like Shahjahanpur.

Other routes of UP

Increase up to 5-10 percent

Slight increase for private vehicles on the routes from Lucknow to Kanpur, Ayodhya and Rae Bareli.

How much will toll increase on various routes?

In UP, the expenditure on toll on routes like Delhi-Meerut Expressway, National Highway-9 and Lucknow-Kanpur will increase by 5 percent. This will put additional burden on passengers traveling from Delhi to Meerut or Lucknow to Kanpur.

In Rajasthan, there is a possibility of increase in expenditure on toll plazas on routes like Jaipur-Delhi, Jaipur-Ajmer and Jaipur-Kishangarh. It is being told that toll for cars on Jaipur-Kishangarh routes will increase from Rs 140 to Rs 155. At the same time, those traveling for long distances like from Delhi to Mumbai via Rajasthan will have to pay an extra Rs 5-15 on every toll.

There are more than 65 tolls in Tamil Nadu, South India. Due to the possible increase in toll charges from April 1, those traveling on Chennai Bypass and Chennai-Tirupati Highway will have to spend more money than before.

There is also a possibility of an average 3-5 percent toll increase on Bengaluru-Mysore and Bengaluru Airport Road. There is heavy traffic on these routes.

On the Delhi-Sonipat-Panipat and Ambala-Chandigarh routes, the toll expenditure on commercial vehicles as well as private vehicles can range between Rs 5-15.

FASTag KYC Process: If your vehicle also leaves the highway and you have installed FASTag, then this is useful news for you. Actually, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has made the KYV (Know Your Vehicle) process easier for FASTag users. With the new rules, Fastag verification has also become faster than before. Another special thing about this is that in the new rule, users will be given proper time to get KYV done, hence the tension of account closure will also end.

What is the new rule?

According to NHAI guidelines, side photo of car, jeep or van will no longer be required for the KYV process. You just have to upload the front photograph along with Fastag and number plate. Apart from this, as soon as the user enters his vehicle number, chassis number or mobile number, the system will automatically fetch the RC data of the vehicle from the ‘Vahan Portal’.

If multiple vehicles are registered on the same mobile number, then in such a case the user can select the vehicle for which he wants to complete KYC. Even after the implementation of the new KYV policy, old Fastag users do not need to panic. Their Fastag will remain active until there are complaints of misuse or loose tag. Along with this, SMS reminders will be sent to the users to complete their KYV from the bank.

Why was the new rule implemented?

NHAI has implemented a new rule with the aim of simplifying the Fastag system, preventing its misuse and bringing transparency in it. NHAI was receiving complaints that many big vehicles like trucks are using Fastag, which is used for small vehicles, in order to save toll tax. To stop this, the Highway Authority in collaboration with NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) started the KYV process to ascertain whether the vehicle for which the Fastag has been issued is being used.

Get KYV done like this

First take a front photo of your vehicle, in which the number plate along with Fastag is clearly visible.

Now upload a side photo, in which the wheels of the vehicle are clearly visible.

Along with this, also upload the scanned vehicle registration certificate (RC).

If you want, you can upload them by going to Fastag portal or your bank’s website.

For this you will have to log in by entering your mobile number and OTP.

You will have to complete the process by going to the ‘KYC’ tab in the ‘My Profile’ section.

The bank will verify the uploaded details with the VAHAN database.

If information is found incorrect, KYV will not be completed.

You will have to verify your KYV every three years to ensure that all the information related to the vehicle is updated and Fastag is not being misused. For any KYC related problem or question, you can also contact National Highway Helpline 1033.

Whenever someone goes through one state through a vehicle in the country, he has to pay toll tax. Some people travel a lot. So at the same time, some people who travel more have to pay more toll tax. Now the government has also issued an annual pass for toll tax. Which will start tomorrow i.e. 15 August. The price of which will be 3000 and the duration is 1 year. Many people are thinking that if there is a balance of Rs 3000 in the fastag. So can the annual pass be purchased from that? Let us tell you what is the rule about it.

Can you buy from the balance of fastag?

Annual fastag passes are starting across the country from tomorrow. Many people believe that the annual pass can be purchased directly from the balance lying in the fastag. but it’s not like that. The balance and annual pass payment of the fastag is considered to be different. To get the pass, you have to deposit the fixed amount separately. The balance in it is used only for toll payment.

Also read: On August 15, the entry-exit of these metro stations will be banned, know the important thing before going on the journey
