FASTag KYC Process: If your vehicle also leaves the highway and you have installed FASTag, then this is useful news for you. Actually, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has made the KYV (Know Your Vehicle) process easier for FASTag users. With the new rules, Fastag verification has also become faster than before. Another special thing about this is that in the new rule, users will be given proper time to get KYV done, hence the tension of account closure will also end.

What is the new rule?

According to NHAI guidelines, side photo of car, jeep or van will no longer be required for the KYV process. You just have to upload the front photograph along with Fastag and number plate. Apart from this, as soon as the user enters his vehicle number, chassis number or mobile number, the system will automatically fetch the RC data of the vehicle from the ‘Vahan Portal’.

If multiple vehicles are registered on the same mobile number, then in such a case the user can select the vehicle for which he wants to complete KYC. Even after the implementation of the new KYV policy, old Fastag users do not need to panic. Their Fastag will remain active until there are complaints of misuse or loose tag. Along with this, SMS reminders will be sent to the users to complete their KYV from the bank.

Why was the new rule implemented?

NHAI has implemented a new rule with the aim of simplifying the Fastag system, preventing its misuse and bringing transparency in it. NHAI was receiving complaints that many big vehicles like trucks are using Fastag, which is used for small vehicles, in order to save toll tax. To stop this, the Highway Authority in collaboration with NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) started the KYV process to ascertain whether the vehicle for which the Fastag has been issued is being used.

Get KYV done like this

• First take a front photo of your vehicle, in which the number plate along with Fastag is clearly visible.
• Now upload a side photo, in which the wheels of the vehicle are clearly visible.
• Along with this, also upload the scanned vehicle registration certificate (RC).
• If you want, you can upload them by going to Fastag portal or your bank’s website.
• For this you will have to log in by entering your mobile number and OTP.
• You will have to complete the process by going to the ‘KYC’ tab in the ‘My Profile’ section.
• The bank will verify the uploaded details with the VAHAN database.
• If information is found incorrect, KYV will not be completed.

Annual fastag passes are starting across the country from tomorrow. Many people believe that the annual pass can be purchased directly from the balance lying in the fastag. but it’s not like that. The balance and annual pass payment of the fastag is considered to be different. To get the pass, you have to deposit the fixed amount separately. The balance in it is used only for toll payment.

Whereas a separate transaction is necessary for the annual pass. So if you want to buy a pass. So for this you have to pay separately. Only then you will be able to get the annual pass. You can use the balance in your fast tag on any other toll plaza.

Where can you take pass?

Annual fastag passes will start across the country from August 15. You will not need to go anywhere to get a fastag pass. You can apply for it sitting online at home. For this, you have to download the highway trip app on your phone. You will be able to apply through that app. So at the same time, you National Highway Authority of India official website.

You can also buy by going to https://nhai.gov.in/#/. Let me tell you that for this you have to enter your vehicle information. So at the same time, you have to pay 3000 rupees. Today, its pre-booking has started from 14 August. From tomorrow, the annual pass can be activated and paid for it.
