<p style="text-align: justify;">The Indian Staffing Federation says that the selection process of more than 1,000 candidates has stopped in just two days due to the change in the rules of face authentication technology (FAT). This has not only affected payroll, as well as difficulties are facing PF contribution and other rules. According to ISF, a large number of temporary workers are taken in staffing companies. Here their joining and exit continues.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now it is necessary for every employee to update KYC, for which FAT has been made mandatory. Now the problem is that many employees do not have a smartphone or internet facility, which is taking time to generate UAN and it is directly impacting salary and PF contribution.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Especially in MSMES and high -turnover sectors, these problems are coming, where face recognition is failing due to server down or the quality of the camera or network. This is delayed in becoming UAN. Now EPFO has set a deadline for Aadhaar linking and FAT till 30 June 2025. Not complying with the rules on time can lead to penalty, PF can stop contribution. This will affect both the employee and the employer. ISF has given some suggestions to deal with these things. </p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">ISF gave some suggestions </h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">ISF says that the deadline should be increased for digital onboarding and fat awareness so that employees get some more time to understand about EPFO, UAN and UMANG apps. FAT registration with proper support and communication should be made easier. Also, for the first time, employers should be allowed to make UAN from the portal so that PF registration is not delayed. </p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">What is UAN? </h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Universal account number is issued by EPFO, which is called UAN in colloquial language. The UAN acts as a umbrella identity for several members IDs given to a person from different employees. The Universal Account Number (UAN) is a 12-design number, which is given to every employee who has opened the account under the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). Even after changing the employee&#8217;s job, the UAN number remains the same. </p>
