A historic deal has been seen in India’s banking sector! Federal Bank has decided to sell its 9.99% stake to America’s leading private equity company Blackstone, the total value of which is about ₹ 6,196.5 crore. This investment was made by Asia II Topco XIII Pte. Ltd., which is an affiliate of Blackstone. Under this deal, Federal Bank will issue more than 27 crore warrants, the price of which has been fixed at ₹ 227 per warrant. Blackstone will have to pay 25% of the amount initially, while the remaining 75% will be paid when they choose to convert the warrants into shares. Most interestingly — Blackstone will also get the right to nominate a non-executive director, which will increase his strategic influence in the management of the bank. Blackstone already has over $50 billion invested in India and this deal reflects their growing confidence in India. This is a big confidence signal not only for the Federal Bank but for the entire Indian economy.

Stock market today: The market started with the Green Zone on the third trading day of the week. In the global market, the Sensex rose 160 points on BSE at around 9.15 am. While the Nifty is open above 24,550. However, Aditya Birla Fashion shares lost 8 percent. Today the shares on which there will be a special focus is AB Fashion, Tata Tech, Indegene and Alkem Lab.

Big fall a day before

Kospi 1.07 percent, ASS 200 also went up 0.27 percent. While broader topics jumped 1.11 percent. S&P futures saw an increase of 1.44 percent while Nasdaq 100 futures saw 1.76 percent and Dow Jones Futures saw an increase of 1.15 percent.

Fall for the second consecutive day on Wednesday
On this, there was a decline for the second consecutive day on the first Wednesday. The BSE Sensex was at a loss of 239 points. The market came down due to selling in ITC and vehicle shares. The company’s stock was broken after the UK’s multinational company BAT PLC reduced the stake in the ITC that manufactures daily use goods.
