The matter first came to light in April when 29 -year -old parrot seller Rosie Khan, who lives in Karachi, came to know that his bank account had been closed. When he tried to withdraw money in Islamabad, he received the message of invalid bank account at the ATM.

According to the report of Pakistan’s ‘The Friday Times’, the bank manager later told him that his account was freezed on April 10 on the instructions of FIA. Rosie said in a conversation with the media, ‘I sell birds to all kinds of people. I did not know that selling parrots to a journalist could do all this.

This action is not only limited to livelihood but also in Lahore, Sargodha, Rawalpindi and other cities who have sold the birds to Tur or have done any business with them, everyone’s accounts have been freeze. Nadeem Nasir, a 60 -year -old businessman from Lahore, said that after the check bounced, his account was freeze without any warning. When he contacted the FIA officials, he questioned him about Asad Ali Tur.

Nasir said, ‘I have known Assad for the last 5 years and I have good relations with him, but the last time he bought me in the early 2023 and 2024. Since then there has been no transaction between us.

Asad Ali toor is a famous YouTuber and an outspoken critic of the government, who has more than 3,35,000 subscribers. He is very fond of rare parrots. They allegedly spend more than Rs 50,000 every month on their care. Apart from Toor, bank accounts of his parents, brother and cousin were also freeze and similar restrictions were imposed on those who conducted with him.

Toor came to know about the bank freeze when one of his cousins told him about this. He said, ‘This has not only happened to me, even those who sold me birds are also being punished, it is absurd.’

Women sent to jail
