Wing Commander Namansh Syal of the Indian Air Force was martyred in the Tejas fighter jet accident that took place on Friday (21 November) at the Dubai Air Show. His father first got information about this painful incident through YouTube. Jagan Nath Syal, a resident of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, was watching videos related to the air show, when suddenly he saw the news of Tejas crash and within a few moments his life changed completely.

According to retired school principal Jagan Nath Syal, he had spoken to his son a day earlier. Namansh had told him to watch his performance on TV or YouTube. The father says that while searching for videos at around 4 pm, he saw the information about the crash. After some time, six Air Force officers arrived at the house, which convinced them that something very serious had happened. Namansh’s family is currently in Coimbatore. His wife is training in Kolkata, while his parents were taking care of their 7-year-old granddaughter Arya for the last two weeks.

Namansh Syal’s career

Namansh Syal’s early education took place in Dalhousie, Army Public School Yol Cantt, Dharamshala and Sainik School Sujanpur Tira. After passing from NDA, he joined the Indian Air Force in 2009. Father tells that Namansh was very promising in studies and was always passionate about seeing big dreams and fulfilling them. The martyrdom of the son has forced the family to complete disintegration. Mother Veena Syal is in deep shock. Officials told the family that the process of bringing the mortal remains to India may take about two days.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu paid tribute

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, while paying tribute to Namansh, said that the martyrdom of the brave son Namansh Syal in the Tejas crash at Dubai Air Show is very sad. The nation has lost a courageous and dutiful warrior. Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said that the administration is providing all possible help to the family.

F-7 BGI fighter jet of Air Force collapsed at Milestone School and College on Monday (21, July 2025) in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, killing 16 students, 3 teachers and pilots. More than 100 people are said to be injured. In which the condition of many remains critical. In such a situation, the number of dead is expected to increase.

Accident occurred during exam
When this accident happened in Milestone School and College, the students were either taking the exam or in regular classes. The Bangladesh Air Force said that China-made F-7 BGI fighter Jet flew at 1:06 pm and fell into the fire after falling with a sharp explosion.

More than 100 injured, many serious
According to the statement issued by the Dhaka administration, more than 100 people have been injured, out of which 83 are treated in various hospitals. The condition of many is said to be critical. The injured have been admitted to several medical institutions including Army Hospital.

The head of the interim government expressed mourning
Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, posted on X and expressed deep condolences on the accident. He wrote, ‘This is a moment of extreme pain for the country. The damage to airforce, students, teachers and families is irreparable.

The country’s most frightening accident
The government has declared National Mourning Day on Tuesday. This accident is considered to be the most horrific aircraft accident in the recent history of Bangladesh. Earlier in 1984, a plane crashed while coming from Chittagong to Dhaka, in which 49 people died.

A fighter jet crashed on Monday afternoon at Milston School and College located in Uttara area of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. 19 people lost their lives in the accident, including 16 students, 2 teachers and pilots. According to the Dhaka Tribune, the pilot killed in the crash has been identified as Flight Lieutenant Mohammad Tauqir Islam. He was on a regular training flight at the time of the accident. 160 people have been injured in this accident.

Fighter aircraft of Chinese origin
The crashed aircraft was F-7BGI, which is an advanced version of China’s J-7. It was one of the 16 aircraft included in the fleet of Bangladesh Air Force (now 15 left). Many videos of the accident have surfaced. The burning engine in a clip was pressed under the rubble. In the second video, people were seen running towards the rubble.

The death toll may increase
The death toll in the Dhaka aircraft accident may increase further, as different figures are coming out from different official sources about the number of dead and injured. Matubaki of eyewitnesses, many people saw the aircraft hitting the building in front of their eyes.

Bangladesh Air Force issued a statement
In a statement issued by Bangladesh Air Force, it has been said that F-7 BGI training aircraft took off at 1:06 pm and was a victim of an accident in Uttara area. The country’s fire service said that nine fire units and six ambulances were deployed on the spot.

Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, said that necessary steps will be taken to investigate the accident and all types of assistance will be ensured. He wrote on X, ‘This is a moment of deep sorrow for the nation. I wish the injured to recover soon and I instruct all the concerned agencies to handle the situation on extreme priority.
