Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has confirmed that he is going to start work on his dream project ‘Mahabharata’. Even before Aamir Khan, many films and TV serials have been made on the epic ‘Mahabharata’ which were released in different years. Whenever films or TV shows have been made on ‘Mahabharata’, the audience has liked him a lot.

Mahabharata (1965)
The film ‘Mahabharata’ released in 1965 was directed by Babubhai Mistry. The film was also dubbed in Tamil under the name of Panchali Sabham which was released in 1966. In ‘Mahabharata’, artists like Shivaji Ganesan, Padmini, Dara Singh, Abhi Bhattacharya and Manhar Desai were. The title song of the film was given by Mohammad Rafi.

The Mahabharata (1989)
Peter Brook’s ‘The Mahabharata’ is also a film based on the epic which was released in 1989. Actually, this was Brooke’s 1985 nine -hour long drama in these short adaptation which was about six hours. It was made like a TV series which was included in about three hours to release in theaters. ‘The Mahabharata’ featured artists like Robert Langton-Lydus Antonin Stahli, Bruce Myers, Vitorio Magogirno, Andrez Saverin, Georges Curfees and Mallika Sarabhai.

Mahabharata (1988 and 1997)
Who does not know about BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharata’? This TV series with 94 episodes was telecast on Doordarshan from 2 October 1988 to 24 June 1990. BR Chopra’s son Ravi Chopra directed this serial. This serial was well liked by the audience, after which its second part ‘Mahabharata Katha’ also came in 1997.

Mahabharata (2013)
Even in the 21st century, the popularity of ‘Mahabharata’ did not decrease and in 2013, another TV serial based on the epic came. It was directed by Siddharth Anand Kumar, Amarprit ji, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kamal Monga and Loknath Pandey. Ahem Sharma, Saurabh Raj Jain and Shaheer Sheikh starrer This series had a total of 267 episodes which started from 16 September 2013 and telecasted on Star Plus till 16 August 2012.
