The Uttar Pradesh government has given a big promotion to CO Anuj Chaudhary posted in Sambhal and appointed him as Additional SP. Anuj Chaudhary, a 2012 batch PPS officer, has now become the first police officer of UP to reach this post from sports quota.

Earlier, no officer had reached the post of Additional SP from sports quota. SP SP KK Bishnoi and ASP Rajesh Kumar Srivastava honored Anuj Chaudhary by putting Ashoka Pillar on uniform.

Won medals in national games

Anuj Chaudhary is originally from Bahedi village in Muzaffarnagar. He has been an international level wrestler before joining the police. He participated in the National Championships continuously from 1997 to 2014 and won silver medals in the National Games of 2002 and 2010. Also won medals in the Asian Championships of 2005-2009. Silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and India’s representation in the 2004 Athens Olympics is his career heights.

In the discussion due to violence in Sambhal

After the violence during the Sambhal Masjid survey last year, Anuj Chaudhary came into the discussion. He was accused of unilateral statement and action. Not only this, he also made a statement on Holi which made headlines across the country. Not only this, he was criticized for being involved in religious programs in uniforms. After this, he was transferred from Sambhal to Chandausi. Now the government has promoted him on the post of Additional SP.

Apart from this, former IPS Amitabh Thakur had also complained against Anuj Chaudhary in the case of police service rule violation, in which he has received a clean chit after investigation.
