Now in India, along with petrol and diesel, the discussion about flex fuel vehicles is increasing rapidly. The government is continuously promoting ethanol mixed fuel so that dependence on petrol is reduced and pollution is also reduced. For this reason, many big auto companies are now preparing such vehicles which can run on ethanol mixed fuel in large quantities along with petrol. In the coming time, many new flex fuel cars can be seen on the roads of India.

Maruti Fronx Flex Fuel

The company may soon launch Fronx Flex Fuel. This car will look like the normal Fronx, but its engine will be able to run on ethanol mixture up to E85. Changes like new injectors, better fuel pump and ethanol sensor will be made in it so that the engine can work easily on different fuel mixtures.

WagonR Flex Fuel

Maruti’s WagonR Flex Fuel is being considered as India’s first mass-market flex fuel car. The company has shown it in many auto expos before. It will get a modified version of 1.2 liter petrol engine which will be able to run on fuel ranging from E20 to E85. The design will remain almost the same as the existing WagonR, but a system showing fuel blend information can also be provided inside it.

Punch Flex Fuel

Tata Motors is also not lagging behind in this race. The company has showcased Punch Flex Fuel and said that it can launch its first flex fuel car by the end of 2026 or beginning of 2027. Punch will get a version of 1.2 liter petrol engine which can run on fuel up to E85 or E100. For this, many changes will be made in the engine and fuel system.

Tiago and Tigor Flex Fuel

Apart from this, Tata Tiago and Tigor can also get flex fuel technology in future because both of them also use the same engine as Punch. Although the company has not made an official announcement yet, but there is a lot of discussion about it in the auto industry.

Toyota Innoca Hycross

Toyota is also preparing a flex fuel version of its popular MPV Innova Hycross. The special thing is that this car will be a combination of flex fuel and strong hybrid technology. That is, it will try to give both better mileage and less pollution. It will get a 2.0 liter petrol engine and hybrid system which will support fuel up to E85. The same technology can also be used in Maruti Invicto.

Hyundai Creta Flex Fuel

Hyundai has also shown the Creta Flex Fuel model. Its biggest feature is that it can run on any ethanol mixture from E0 to E100. It will have a 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine which will generate about 118 horsepower. The company has made major changes in the engine and ECU so that it can perform better even on high ethanol fuel.
