The situation in the South-East Asian country Thailand has become very bad due to floods and landslides. The number of people who died due to natural disaster in the country has increased to 145, out of which a total of 110 deaths have been recorded in Songkhla province of Thailand alone. These natural disasters have had a widespread impact on the large population of Thailand. In this, 12.5 lakh houses and more than 36 lakh people have been affected.

In this difficult time, the people of the country are very angry due to the negligence of the government. The disaster of floods and landslides in Thailand has come at a time when the country is already facing difficult problems like economic recession, decline in tourism and tension on the border. In such a situation, people’s anger towards the government is increasing.

PM implements emergency law in Thailand

Admitting shortcomings in Thailand’s flood management, a government spokesperson said, ‘Mistakes have been made and the government cannot deny this. He said that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had announced the imposition of emergency in Songkhla province on Tuesday (November 25, 2025). Along with this, he also implemented emergency law to speed up relief and rescue operations. Whereas Thailand’s Disaster Management Minister had to walk out after being surrounded by questions being asked during the press conference.

According to news agency IANS, Thailand’s government spokesperson said that the water level is expected to go below the river banks by Thursday evening. If the water level goes down, it will make rescue operations easier and the government will be able to start a large-scale cleaning campaign.

9 areas of southern Thailand badly affected due to floods

Quoting the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, news agency IANS said that monsoon floods have badly affected nine provinces in the southern region of Thailand. Due to which 2.20 million people of Thailand have been affected.
