US State Department spokesman Tami Bruce said in a statement, “The United States expresses its deep condolences to the people of the Republic of Korea for loss of life and property in the southeastern region. In this difficult time, America stands with its colleague. The United States Korea force is also ready to deal with fire and assist the affected communities’.

America promised all possible help to South Korea
Bruce said, ‘We express grief over the death of brave firefighters and others. Our condolences are with their families, displaced people and all those who take refuge in this difficult time ‘. According to a report by the Yonhap news agency, Bruce also recalled South Korea’s ‘strong support’ during the devastating fire in the US. He said, ‘Just as you are standing with us, we will also stand with you’. Meanwhile, on Friday, firefighters and military are trying to extinguish the country’s largest forest fire with the help of helicopters, which was engaged in the south-eastern province of North Gyongsang. So far 28 people have died in this fire, while 32 people have been injured.

‘More than more than 38, 000 hectares of forests burnt’
According to government data, the fire in this area has caused a lot of damage since last Friday and more than 38,000 hectares of forests have been gutted. It is about 13,000 hectares more than the fire on the east coast in 2000, in which 23,794 hectares of forest was burnt at that time. At that time that fire was considered the biggest fire in the country.

A total of 37,829 people were displaced by 7 pm, including around 30,000 people from Uisong and Andong regions of North Gyongsang province. South Korea’s acting President Han Duck-Suk instructed the caretaker internal minister to take care of relief work for the victims of the forest fire until the fire was stayed in North Gyongsang province and over the fire.

The forest agency said this in its statement

The forest agency has informed that the authorities have deployed hundreds of personnel and dozens of vehicles to extinguish the fire. So far, about 847 hectares of land has been burnt due to this horrific fire, while about 260 residents of Sanchyong area have been sent to safe places.

According to the Ministry of Internal and Security, about 620 people have to leave their homes on Saturday and take shelter in the shelter sites due to wildfire in the southeastern city of Ulsan and its nearby Gyongsang province.

The country is going through a difficult period

The ministry said that South Korea has declared a disaster situation in the southern regions of the country to raise resources to control the fire, as well as Sanchyong has been declared a special disaster area.

This fire spreads at a time when South Korea is going through the biggest political upheaval of decades. The crisis began in December after President Yu Suk Yeol declared a short -term martial law. Currently, Finance Minister Choi Song-Mok is leading the country as acting President.
