Last year, there were frauds worth about Rs 1,087 crore associated with Unified Payment Interface (UPI) in the country. About 17.7 million users have been made aware about fraud through Google’s Digikavach program. This awareness program will be expanded in partnership with the Central Government’s Cyber ​​Crime Cordination Center (I4C). Google’s VP and Country Manager in the country, Preti Lobana said, “Digital ecosystem can only become a source of growth when people using it feel safe.” The company’s AI systems are providing effective results on their consumer platforms. Google’s messages are securing users with more than 50 crore suspicious messages every month through AI powered scam detection. Google Pay has displayed around 4.1 million transactions for fraud.

The company’s search engine is holding the scam pages 20 times more than before. The Google Play Protect has blocked about six crore attempts to install higher risk apps since its launch in October last year. With this, more than 1.2 crore devices have been saved from malware. Last year, Google removed about 24.7 million fraud ads. Apart from this, about 29 lakh accounts were blocked due to violation of the company’s policy.

Bharti Airtel, one of the big telecom companies, has claimed that it has blocked 1.80 million forged links within just 25 days of launching the advanced fraud-detection system. The company has said that about 3 million users have been protected from fraud by blocking these links.

Bharti Airtel said, “Advanced system scans and filters have been enabled on SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, email and other browsers in an automatic way for all mobile and broadband customers of the company. This will increase the availability of broadband in areas where fiber connectivity is not limited or available. Bharti Airtel will be supplied to Nokia its 5G FWA outdoor gateway receiver and Wi-Fi 6 access points. These devices will use the modem-RF and Wi-Fi 6 chipset of Qualcomm.
