Railway New Ticket Booking System: Lakhs of people travel by train every day. Many people book tickets several months in advance so that they can get a confirmed ticket, but it has been seen many times that passengers face many problems due to which they are not able to get the ticket like slow server, not getting information about ticket confirmation, but now to overcome these problems, Indian Railways is going to completely change its 40 year old Passenger Reservation System i.e. PRS. This new system will be equipped with AI technology, which will make ticket booking faster and easier than before.

There will be a big change in the 40 year old system
According to Railways, the current reservation system was started in the year 1986. Although, small changes have been made in it from time to time, but now it is being completely upgraded. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has instructed officials to shift trains to the new system from August.

Why was the new system necessary?

Ever since online ticket booking started, the pressure on the old system had increased considerably due to its excessive use.

• About 88 percent of ticket booking in the country is being done online.
• Because of this the old system becomes slow in high traffic.
• Also, passengers face difficulty in getting real time updates.

• Now RailOne app of Indian Railways is rapidly becoming famous among the people.
• This app was launched last July.
• And till now it has been downloaded more than 3.5 crores.
• Not only this, facility of both ticket booking and complaint resolution is available.

Know the special features of the new system

• Now AI will tell whether the ticket will be confirmed or not.
• Will work on the basis of historical data.

AI based prediction feature has been added in the new system. Also, this feature will tell on the basis of old booking data and trends what is the probability of waiting ticket being confirmed. According to Railways, its accuracy will be up to 94 percent.

Now booking will be 5 times faster

If we talk about booking, the new system will be able to book tickets at a speed of 1.25 lakh tickets per minute. The capacity of the current system is 25 thousand tickets per minute. This will also reduce the pressure on the server and will help in stopping brokers and illegal software.

Will be able to change the date of travel without cancellation fee

Now under the new system, passengers will be able to change the date of their journey without canceling the confirmed ticket. The most important thing is that no cancellation fee will have to be paid for this.

Aadhaar is necessary for tatkal ticket

To prevent irregularities in Tatkal ticket booking, Railways has now made Aadhaar verification mandatory for online Tatkal booking.

• If someone picks up your child and occupies the seat, first show him/her your ticket and tell him/her that this is my seat.

What to do if purse falls?

If your purse has fallen from a moving train, then in such a situation, first of all you should not panic. Instead of looking at the purse, first of all note the number written on the electric pole immediately in front of you. After this, call the RPF helpline and tell between which two stations and near which pole number your purse has fallen. Because this will help the railway team in finding the purse. Then the railway team will reach that place and search your purse. If your purse is found, you can go to the concerned station and take it back by showing your identity card.
