ATF Price Hike News: If you are planning to go abroad then this news can affect your budget. Government oil companies have once again increased the price of jet fuel for international flights.

In Delhi, the price of ATF i.e. Aviation Turbine Fuel has increased from Rs 1,36,082 to Rs 1,43,335 per kilolitre. This is an increase of 5.33 percent and prices have increased for the second consecutive month.

Will tickets be expensive?

Simply put, when jet fuel becomes expensive, airlines compensate it by charging passengers fuel surcharge. This surcharge is added separately to your ticket. That means whether going to Dubai, London or Toronto – the total price of the ticket may increase on each route.

Why did fuel become so expensive?

The main reason for this is the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. Before this tension, the global price of jet fuel was around Rs 8,059 to Rs 8,533 per barrel, which has now crossed Rs 18,488 per barrel. Within a few weeks the prices more than doubled. 30 to 40 percent of any airline’s expenditure is on fuel only, hence its direct impact is on the ticket price.

Relief on domestic flights now

If you are going somewhere inside the country then there is relief at the moment. The government has kept domestic airlines out of this increase. Even today i.e. on April 1, when the prices were doubled, only 25 percent of the total increase was implemented on domestic airlines.

If you are planning to travel abroad then book your tickets as soon as possible because the prices may increase further in the coming weeks. Make a budget keeping the fuel surcharge in mind and while purchasing the ticket, check the total price along with the base fare.

Air India Fuel Surcharge: If you are planning to travel by flight soon. So you may have to pay a little more for the ticket. In fact, the effect of rising costs of airlines is now visible on passengers’ pockets as well. Airline companies are struggling with the ever increasing prices of aviation turbine fuel and that is why the fares are being changed. In this series, Air India has also decided to implement new fuel surcharge.

This change will be applicable on both domestic and international routes. The airline says that jet fuel has become expensive due to increasing geopolitical tension in the Middle East. Due to which the operation cost has increased. This is the reason why now passengers may have to pay more money than before while booking tickets. Know how expensive tickets will become now.

How much will the fares increase on domestic flights?

According to the airline’s decision, a fuel surcharge of Rs 399 will be added to every domestic flight ticket from March 12. That is, if you book a ticket for travel within the country. So apart from the base fare and tax, this extra charge will also have to be paid. This rule will be applicable not only on Air India but also on Air India Express flights.

The company has also made it clear that the same surcharge will be applicable on flights going to SAARC countries also. The airline says that the rise in jet fuel prices has significantly increased the cost of operation. In such a situation, this step has become necessary. So that the increasing costs can be balanced to some extent.

Surcharge will increase on international routes also

Fuel surcharge has been changed not only on domestic routes but also on international routes. An additional charge of $10 per ticket will be imposed for flights going to West Asia. Whereas on Africa routes this fee has been increased to $90. Which is more than before. The surcharge for South East Asia has also been increased and it has been increased to $60.

The special thing is that now this charge will be applicable on flights to and from Singapore also. Whereas earlier no such surcharge was charged there. The airline says that this decision had to be taken due to the situation in the Gulf and the rising prices of jet fuel. Due to which the total price of tickets may increase in the coming time.
