Inspired by classic films like ‘Mother India’, ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ and ‘Sholay’, I made ‘Gadar’ and like those films, it also settled in the hearts of the audience. Apart from making great money at the box office, it also attracted about 10 crore viewers to the theatres. Till date no other film has been able to reach so many audiences. Even the footfall of ‘Gadar 2’ was half of this.

At the same time, on the clash of Aamir Khan’s ‘Lagaan’, he said, ‘At that time it was not seen as a competition. In those times, two or three big films were released on the same day and the audience would go to watch all the films. People used to watch one show of ‘Gadar’ and the other of ‘Lagaan’. That was not an era of marketing, but of watching films with heart.

Shooting of ‘Gadar 3’ may start next year

Apart from this, regarding the third part of the film, he said that after ‘Gadar 2’, people are continuously demanding to take Jeete’s story forward. However, he will make the next part only when he gets a strong story. If they get a strong story like ‘Nuclear Bomb’, only then ‘Gadar 3’ will be made. Currently, work on the script of the film is going on and if everything goes well, the shooting of ‘Gadar 3’ can start next year.

Shooting will take place in Lucknow

Anil Sharma further said, ‘The hand pump scene of the film was shot in La Martiniere College. Many scenes related to Pakistan were also shot in Lucknow. If ‘Gadar 3’ is made, it will also be shot in Lucknow because without it the film will not be made.
