Maharashtra Congress has taken action and suspended Ambernath Block President Pradeep Patil from the party for supporting BJP. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Vice President Ganesh Patil has written a letter to Ambernath Congress Block President Pradeep Patil. In this he has given advice to Ambernath Block President Pradeep Patil on supporting BJP.

Maharashtra Congress Vice President Ganesh Patil wrote in a letter to the Ambernath Block President, “We contested the elections on the Congress symbol and won 12 seats, but without informing the state leadership or the state office of the party, you have formed an alliance with the BJP and we have come to know about this from media sources. This is not a good thing, hence as per the instructions of State President Harsh Vardhan Sapkal, you are being suspended from the party.”

BJP’s alliance with Congress and NCP in Ambernath civic elections

After the municipal elections held last month, BJP had formed an alliance with Congress and Ajit Pawar’s NCP in Ambernath Municipal Council. This alliance was named ‘Ambernath Vikas Aghadi’ and BJP’s ally Shiv Sena of Shinde faction was excluded from it. Similarly, in Akot Municipal Council of Akola district, BJP formed an alliance with All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) and some other parties.

What did CM Devendra Fadnavis say?

On the other hand, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis clearly said that such alliances do not have the approval of the top leadership of the party and it is against the discipline of the party. He said, “No alliance will be accepted with Congress or AIMIM and action will be taken against those who have done so.”

Let us tell you that at present there is a Mahayuti government in Maharashtra with the alliance of BJP, Ajit Pawar’s NCP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena had emerged as the largest party in Ambernath by winning 27 seats, but was a little short of the majority. Meanwhile, 14 seats of BJP, 12 seats of Congress and 4 seats of NCP formed an alliance and achieved majority. From here, BJP’s Tejashree Karanjule Patil was elected president of the Municipal Council.
