Ganga Dussehra is today on Thursday 5 June. According to the almanac, today is the tenth date of Jyeshtha Shukla. This date is celebrated every year as Ganga Dussehra. People take bath in the Ganges on this auspicious occasion.

Tulsi is considered very sacred in the scriptures. Be sure to bring Tulsi plant home on the day of Ganga Dussehra. This will give the blessings of Maa Lakshmi and the economic problem would be overcome. If there is already a basil plant at home, then after bathing, give water in Tulsi and in the evening, light a lamp of ghee near Tulsi.

Bringing coconut on Ganga Dussehra is also considered auspicious. It is called Shreephal, because coconut is considered a symbol of Goddess Lakshmi. On the day of Ganga Dussehra, the lack of money to bring coconut at home is removed and auspiciousness comes.

According to religious belief, on the day of Ganga Dussehra, Mother Ganga descended on earth with the jatas of Shiva. Therefore, on this day, it is also auspicious to buy white items like milk, curd and anointing it on Shivling. This remedy gives the grace of Bholenath along with Maa Ganga.

Today, the festival of Ganga Dussehra is being celebrated on Thursday, 5 June 2025 of Jyeshtha Shukla Paksha. On this occasion, people bathe in the holy Ganges river. It is believed that 10 types of sins are destroyed by bathing on this day and the paths of salvation are opened.

On this day, thousands of people reach the Ganga Ghat from Brahma Muhurta to bathe. But for some reason you are unable to bathe on the Ganges Ghat, then you do not need to be disappointed at all. Because by taking some measures, you can get virtue like Ganga bath at home too.

Those who cannot bathe on the Ganges Ghat, they can take a Mansi bath i.e. mental bath. This is a type of spiritual process, so that not only the body of the person but also the soul and the mind are purified. Older, sick, physically disabled or people who cannot go to Ganga Ghat, they can take a Mansi bath.
