The West Bengal government seems to be under attack from all sides regarding the case of a 23-year-old MBBS student who was gang-raped near the Medical College in Durgapur, West Bengal. BJP is attacking Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding her statement.

According to the report of NDTV, the complaint lodged by the victim’s father has become the basis of the FIR in this case. The complaint said that the sexual assault took place around 8 pm when the victim had gone out with a college friend.

Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tried to put the responsibility of security of students on private colleges and raised questions as to how this student, originally from Odisha, left the campus late at night.

He said private medical colleges should take care of their students and the “night culture”.
