A major railway accident was averted today near Sirhind railway station in Punjab. There was panic among the passengers due to sudden fire in Garib Rath Express going from Amritsar to Saharsa. The incident occurred when the train reached Sirhind station, half a kilometer ahead of Ambala. Seeing smoke rising from a compartment of the train, passengers immediately informed the railway personnel. The driver showed wisdom and immediately stopped the train, thereby averting a major accident.

The incident is said to have happened around 7:30 in the morning. According to railway officials, all the passengers are completely safe and there is no news of any casualty or injury. The cause of the fire is not yet clear, but technical fault or short circuit is being considered as the possible cause.

The train will leave soon for its destination

Officials said that after controlling the fire, the condition of the train is being inspected. After examining the damaged coach, the train will soon be sent towards its destination Saharsa. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP teams have taken the entire area under security cover and all necessary facilities are being provided to the passengers.

As soon as the news of the fire spread, there was panic among the passengers for some time, but the immediate action of the railway and fire brigade personnel took care of everything. In this incident, the promptness of the railway employees and the quick response of the fire unit averted a potentially major accident.

Which train out of New Delhi

The order related to this was issued on 12 June. It includes Purushottam Express, Saharsa Poor chariotSix trains including Mumbai Duronto Express, New Jalpaiguri Express have been shown the way to Bah. According to the board’s circular, Purushottam Express will now stop at Anand Vihar Terminal instead of New Delhi. Earlier this train used to reach New Delhi at 4:00 am, which will now reach Anand Vihar at 3:50 am. The Superfast Express (12523/12524) running between New Delhi to New Jalpaiguri will now run from Anand Vihar Termillon and will stop here.

New Delhi-Jalandhar City Express (14681/14682) and New Delhi-Amritsar Express (14679/14680) have been transferred from New Delhi to Delhi railway station. Saharsa-Amritsar Garib Rath Express (12203/12204) will now run from Delhi Junction and Anand Vihar Terminal. According to the old schedule, the train running from Amritsar will arrive at Delhi Junction at 10:50 am and will leave at 11:05 am. New Delhi-Mumbai Central Duronto Express (22209/22210) will be dispatched from Hazrat Nizamuddin. Apart from these, according to the officials, many other trains can also be run from Hazrat Nizamuddin or Delhi Sarai Rohilla.

How long will this rule come into force

There has been no official confirmation about when this rule will be implemented. It is only indicated that it can be implemented according to the convenient date. Railways clarified that this change will be applicable to a total of six pairs of trains and such a decision can be taken for other trains in future.
