Adani Power Shares: The new year proved to be good for the shares of Adani Power as its shares rose by 7.1 percent on Thursday, January 1. With this the price of shares has reached Rs 153.20. There is no specific reason for this rise in the company’s shares. However, looking at the company’s long-term growth outlook, it includes growing baseload power demand, large capacity expansion pipeline and better earnings expectations as stated in the recent brokerage report.

50 million shares traded

Recently, Antique Stock Broking had said that Adani Power is entering a ‘multi-year earnings upcycle’ based on expanding capacity by 2.3x in FY33 from 18.15 GW in FY25 and transitioning from a stressed thermal independent power producer to becoming India’s most efficient private baseload operator. During this period there was a significant increase in trading volume also. According to Trendline data, around 50 million shares were traded on both NSE and BSE till 12:45 pm, which is four times more than the average volume in a week.

Shares of many other companies of the group also rose.

However, on the first day of the new year, not only the shares of Adani Power rose, but the shares of many other companies of the group were also seen rising. A rise of up to 9 percent was seen in the shares of some companies. In early trading, all the listed companies of Adani Group were seen trading in the green. Among these, Adani Total Gas Limited remained the topper. On Thursday, its shares jumped more than 9.45 percent to Rs 620.65, taking its total market capitalization to about Rs 67,000 crore.

Apart from these, shares of both Adani Green Energy Limited and Adani Energy Solutions Limited rose up to 3 percent to Rs 1,061.35 and Rs 1,045 respectively. With this, their total market capitalization reached Rs 1.3 lakh crore and Rs 1.7 lakh crore respectively.

India’s Top Billionaires: Today is the last day of the year 2025 and with this a new year and a new journey will begin. However, if we look back, this year not only there was a record breaking rise in the prices of gold and silver, but the country’s billionaires also earned huge amounts. However, the net worth of others also declined during this period.

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, this year Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani earned the most money. His net worth increased by $16.50 billion in the year 2025. The reason for this was the strong performance of Reliance Industries shares. Shares of Reliance Industries, India’s largest listed company by market value, increased by almost 30 percent, which was the best performance of the company’s shares since 2020.

Who is at number two and third?

Right behind Ambani is Lakshmi Mittal, CEO and Chairman of ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel producing company. His net worth will increase by approximately $12 billion in 2025, taking his total wealth to approximately $31 billion. Mittal is currently the 70th richest person in the world. This increase in his net worth happened when the global steel market improved and investor interest in big metal producers returned.

After this, the name of Sunil Mittal, founder of Bharti Enterprises was mentioned. His net worth will increase by approximately $6 billion to $29 billion in 2025. Bharti Airtel shares rose by about 31 percent during the year. In the second quarter of the financial year 2025, the consolidated net profit of his telecom company increased by 89 percent to Rs 6,792 crore.

These businessmen including Gautam Adani also benefited

During this period, Gautam Adani also benefited. With a jump of approximately $5.9 billion, his net worth increased to approximately $84 billion. With this, Adani remains the second richest Indian after Mukesh Ambani. Apart from these, the wealth of Kumar Mangalam Birla increased by about 4 billion dollars in the year 2025. Now his total wealth is approximately 22 billion dollars.

Uday Kotak is also not behind in terms of net worth. He added more than $2 billion to his wealth in 2025, increasing his net worth to nearly $16 billion. With this, he has joined the list of top-10 richest Indians.

In the list, Vikram Lal, founder of automobile giant Eicher Motors, Nusli Wadia of Wadia Group, Indigo co-founder Rahul Bhatia, Torrent Group chairman Sameer Mehta also earned a good amount in the year 2025.

India richest billionaires 2025: The year 2025 has now reached its final stage and while this year will be remembered for many big achievements, economic ups and downs and global events, it has also proved to be very important for the rich and billionaire families of India. While the sharp fluctuations in the stock market, high tariffs of the US and other countries, global economic uncertainty and sectoral pressures led to a huge decline in the wealth of some big industrialists, this year proved to be “lucky” for some select billionaires and there was a tremendous increase in their net worth.

loss to these billionaires

If we talk about those billionaires who suffered the most loss in the year 2025, then the name of RJ Corp Chairman Ravi Jaipuria tops the list. Due to increasing tax concerns and increasing competition in the beverage sector, there was constant pressure on his companies, which had a direct impact on his wealth. Apart from this, the slowdown in the real estate sector has affected DLF’s K.P. Mangal Prabhat of Singh and Lodha Group was also clearly visible on the net worth of Lodha.

Due to slowing down of property sales in big cities and weakness in the shares of real estate companies, there was a decline in their properties. At the same time, due to pressure in the IT and pharma sector, this year there was a significant decline in the assets of veteran industrialists like Cyrus Poonawala, Azim Premji, Shiv Nadar and Dilip Shanghvi.

These billionaires became rich

On the other hand, the year 2025 was very good for some billionaires and their wealth increased rapidly. The biggest name in this list was that of Steel King Lakshmi Mittal, who was included in the top gainers of 2025. He benefited greatly from the strength in ArcelorMittal’s shares, better business performance and Europe’s favorable trade policy, which led to a huge jump in his net worth.

The wealth of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani also increased, where the excellent performance in telecom, retail and energy sectors further strengthened the confidence of investors in Reliance shares. Similarly, 2025 also proved to be very profitable for Eicher Motors founder Vikram Lal due to strong sales of Royal Enfield and increase in exports.

Apart from this, names like Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Bharti Airtel Chairman Sunil Mittal, industrialist Nusli Wadia and banking sector veteran Uday Kotak were also included among those billionaires, whose wealth increased significantly during the year 2025. Overall, the year 2025 made it clear that while some sectors and business models remained under pressure due to the changing global and domestic economic conditions, industrialists who took advantage of strong strategy, right sector selection and favorable policies were seen becoming rich this year.

If we talk about Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, the year 2025 was overall a mixed but strategically strong year for him. On one hand, the group faced global scrutiny and uncertainties, on the other hand, several big and important steps strengthened the long-term growth story of Adani Group.

During the year 2025, the Group made strategic acquisitions such as Vidarbha Industries Power Limited, which further strengthened its position in the power sector. Record passenger numbers were recorded at airports operated under Adani Airports, reflecting the group’s strong hold in the aviation business. Additionally, announcements of major investments of $15 to 20 billion in Navi Mumbai International Airport, data centres, green energy and infrastructure related sectors gave a clear signal to investors and the market that the Adani Group is focusing on future growth in an aggressive but planned manner.

The most important thing is that after getting a clean chit in the investigation by American agencies, the uncertainty surrounding the Adani Group was removed to a great extent, which strengthened the market’s confidence in the group’s credibility and future prospects. Overall, 2025 was a balanced year of challenges and opportunities for the Adani Group, laying a strong foundation for the years ahead.

Shanti Bill: President Draupadi Murmu on Sunday approved the Peace Bill 2025 passed in the winter session of Parliament. The full name of SHANTI Bill is Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI). With this, now private sector companies will also get many opportunities in this sector and the government’s monopoly will end. One objective of passing this bill is to achieve the target of 100 GW nuclear energy by the year 2047, which government companies will not be able to achieve on their own. For this, help of private companies will also be required.

Let us tell you that at present, under the Atomic Energy Act, 1962, only the Central Government and its owned companies have the right to build and run nuclear power plants. Private companies are not allowed to interfere in this. But now with the new peace bill, Atomic Energy Act, 1962 and Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act, 2010 are being repealed. This will improve the legal framework regarding controlling nuclear energy. This will open avenues for new investment in the sector and will also provide support for technical cooperation.

Adani Group eyes nuclear sector

In this sequence, Adani Group, led by Asia’s second richest man and business tycoon Gautam Adani, is preparing to rapidly expand its Artificial Intelligence data centers and the energy infrastructure required to support them. His younger son Jeet Adani told Nikkei Asia that demand for data centers is growing rapidly and India is currently in a good position to build AI data centers due to low costs and recent changes in energy regulations. This will be a natural benefit to the country.

Why is the demand for data centers increasing?

From online shopping to digital payments, various types of apps and online videos, the demand for data is increasing rapidly in India due to Artificial Intelligence (AI). As a result, demand for data centers is also increasing.

Since data centers are operational 24*7, they require electricity on a large scale, hence companies can meet their needs of baseload power by installing nuclear power plants and since it is a big source of clean energy, it will reduce greenhouse gases and will prove to be better for the environment. With the entry of private companies in the nuclear sector, investment will increase, projects will be completed faster, production will start sooner, dependence on renewable energy sources will increase, employment will increase, more electricity needs will be met.

What is the plan of Adani Group?

It is being told that Adani Group is planning to use its large renewable energy base to meet the increasing electricity needs of the AI data center. Or rather, the company is thinking of setting up a nuclear plant.

Adani Green Energy is already at the forefront in solar and wind power in the country. Now its plan is to invest up to 5 billion dollars in building an Artificial Intelligence data center project for Google. Jeet Adani says that his company can provide renewable power as per the needs of big global tech companies and then according to the demand, the energy infrastructure can be further expanded in different phases.

Jeet Adani said that nuclear energy was ignored for years, whereas it can play an important role in meeting long-term electricity needs. Under this plan, the group will own and operate the power plants, while the reactors will be constructed by specialized partners.

Biggest Solar Plant: Gautam Adani-led company Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is setting up the world’s largest renewable energy plant in the desert area of Khavra in Kutch, Gujarat. This plant spread over 538 square kilometers was mentioned by Pranab Adani, nephew of Gautam Adani and director of Adani Enterprises, in his recent interview on television. This solar plant is five times bigger than Paris, now understand how huge it is.

He mentioned this while talking about the company’s clean-energy project. This plant was started in 2023 and in these two years it achieved a capacity of 5000 MW or 5 GW. The company aims to increase its capacity to 30 gigawatts in the coming five years.

This project will be visible even from the moon

Pranab Adani described this project as so big that in future it can be visible even from the moon. According to him, it is expected that by 2030 it will be ready as the world’s largest renewable energy park. Also known as Hybrid Renewable Energy Park, electricity is generated using both solar and wind energy in this plant.

Its biggest feature is that the plant is completely AI based. Of course, thousands of engineers and workers are engaged day and night in the work of making it, but there are many tasks which are done by robots like cleaning work etc.

scorching heat and widespread silence

Pranab Adani said, “If we talk about renewable energy, Adani Group is playing a big role in it. Our aim is to become the world’s largest renewable energy generation company by 2030.” The area around Khavra near the India-Pakistan border is extremely hot and dry.

Here the desert stretches for miles, in the 42 degree heat the winds blow at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Where life is difficult to even imagine, setting up the world’s largest renewable energy plant is indeed no less than a great achievement in itself.

Pranab Adani says that the isolated area here actually makes it perfect for a big renewable energy project. On top of that, the company is now converting this unused land into something valuable.

electricity needs will be met

Pranab Adani further said that work on clean energy is going on rapidly in India. To meet the 24-hour electricity requirement in the country, coal-based electricity is still required. However, modern ultra-supercritical coal technology produces much lower emissions than older systems. He said that this renewable energy plant will significantly increase the share of clean energy in India, at a time when the country is trying to fulfill its climate commitments along with rapid development.

Adani Group Investment in Energy Sector: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said on Tuesday that his group will invest more than US $ 75 billion in the energy transition sector in the next five years. He was speaking on the 100th foundation day of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. Adani said that the group is building the world’s largest renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat, which is spread over 520 square kilometers.

There will be a big change in the energy sector

He said that this park will generate 30 GW of green energy at full capacity by 2030, which is equivalent to providing electricity to more than 6 crore houses for a year as per average consumption. So far, 10 GW capacity has been commissioned and the Group is moving towards providing the world’s lowest cost green power.

Adani said India is the world’s third-largest electricity consumer, but per capita consumption is still less than 1,400 kWh, which is half the global average, one-tenth that of the US and one-fifth that of Europe.

Referring to the global sustainability debate, he said that some international institutions question India’s ranking because the country has not set a deadline to exit coal. But the reality is that India’s per capita CO₂ emissions are only 2 tonnes, while America’s is 14 tonnes, China’s 9 tonnes and Europe’s 6 tonnes.

India’s contribution to carbon emissions is less

India’s contribution to total global emissions in the last 200 years has been only 4 percent, while Europe’s contribution is 13 percent, America’s 19 percent and China’s 20 percent. Adani said that India should choose the path according to its development needs and should not be influenced by external pressures.

He further said that India is the world’s third largest electricity consumer, but its per capita consumption is “less than 1,400 kilowatt hours per year, which is less than half the global average and one-tenth of the US and one-fifth of Europe.”

Referring to the global sustainability debate, Adani said this debate came to the fore at the 2025 COP-30, where India’s sustainability ‘ranking’ was downgraded in a report arguing that our country lacked a timeline for coal extraction and the auction of coal blocks was ongoing.

Guatam Adani: Andhra Pradesh has approved the transfer of 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts to Adani Infra (India) Private Limited. Adani Infra is a partner of Google’s company Raiden Infotech India. Together, both are running a project to build a big data center here.

The ministers of the state government have approved this after the proposal of Raiden Infotech India, the official order of which was issued on 2 December. With the availability of land, the digital infrastructure here will be strengthened in the coming time and technology investment will also get a boost.

87500 crore spent in building data center

The order issued on December 2 said, after carefully examining the proposal, the government and the Council of Ministers approved it in the meeting held on 28/11/2025. According to this, approval is given to transfer 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts to M/s Adani Infra India) Private Limited.

Raiden Infotech India is investing more than Rs 87,500 crore in the development of data centers across Andhra Pradesh in the first phase. In return, the company will get incentives worth Rs 22,000 crore from the state over time as part of the government’s efforts to promote digital projects.

What did Raiden demand?

According to the government order, Raiden has requested that its notified partners, including Adani Infra, be authorized to avail the incentives earlier promised by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government for the data center project. Google’s company Raiden Infotech will build a 1 GW AI data center as the main part of this project. The company has identified several ‘Notified Partners’, which include Adani Infra, AdaniConnex India, Adani Power India, Bharti Airtel, Nextra Data and Nextra Vizag (subsidiary of Bharti Airtel).

Raiden has specifically requested that all three parcels of land identified by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) be allotted to Adani Infra as the primary notified partner after completing the survey and handing over possession.

The government order states that the data center will be built on the same standards as those supporting Google’s core services, such as Search, YouTube and Workspace. The planned facility’s 1 GW power consumption is equivalent to Mumbai’s annual power usage.

Adani Group: Navi Mumbai International Airport has passed the Passenger Simulation Test. Now it is completely ready for flight movement from December 25. This project has been jointly built by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO), in which AAHL has 74 percent stake and CIDCO has 26 percent stake.

AAHL’s plan for the next 5 years

A Bloomberg report has now revealed that Adani Group is planning to spend up to $15 billion to increase the capacity of its airports to 200 million passengers every year in the next five years.

AAHL preparing to launch IPO

The purpose of this expansion is to strengthen its hold in India’s rapidly growing aviation market as the company is preparing to list its airport business. Other airports that Adani Group company AAHL operates in the country include Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Guwahati, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram. There is also a plan to upgrade their capacity.

India’s air passenger traffic is increasing rapidly

According to the report, about 70 percent of the expansion cost to increase the capacity of airports will be done from debt funds, while the remaining amount will come from equity. India’s air passenger traffic is expected to more than double to 300 million every year by 2030 and accordingly Adani Group wants to handle about two-thirds of the demand.

This upgradation also strengthens the company’s plan to launch the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of its airports unit. Most of the upgradation will be done in the six airports that Adani took over in 2020 during the second round of India’s airport privatization. Earlier these were operated by the Airports Authority of India.

Gautam Adani on Indology Mission: Taking a big step towards giving global recognition to the Indian knowledge tradition, Gautam Adani has announced to give Rs 100 crore for the development of ‘India Knowledge Graph’. This announcement was made at the first Adani Global Indology Conclave held in Ahmedabad with the aim of preserving, organizing and modernizing Indian civilizational knowledge. This program was jointly organized by Adani Group and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) of the Ministry of Education.

Big announcement on Indology Mission

Adani said that this contribution is a payment of debt towards the great civilization of India. The India Knowledge Graph aims to compile India’s historical contributions to astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, governance, linguistics and other fields into a modern digital framework that will be optimized for artificial intelligence.

Scholars, technical experts, policy-makers and spiritual leaders attending the conference described this initiative as an important step towards making India a ‘Vishwa Guru’. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that Gautam Adani’s initiative takes forward his dream that India should play its role as a global teacher.

Big step towards becoming a world leader

Adani also warned that if a civilization does not protect its cultural structures in the digital age, then future generations may be influenced by the cold rationality of the algorithms of machines and move away from their cultural and historical identity.

Under this mission, Adani Group and IKS have decided to support 14 PhD researchers from IITs, IIMs and leading universities for five years. The areas of study of these researchers include Panini grammar, computational linguistics, ancient astronomy, indigenous health systems, sustainability principles embedded in traditional engineering, political thought and classical literature.

The aim is to make India’s civilizational knowledge wealth more accessible, reliable and future-oriented through modern research methods—such as data science, systems thinking and multimodal archiving.
