Former Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given a statement publicly for the first time after the violence in the country and his coup. He lashed out at the new Gen Z administration on Saturday (September 27, 2025) after his first public presence. He addressed the interim government of Nepal under the leadership of Sushila Karki, former Chief Justice of Nepal, as the Jane Z government. He said that this interim government is a ‘government to show off’.

He said, ‘This is Jane Z government, which has not been made according to the provisions of the Constitution of Nepal, nor the people have chosen it by voting. This government has been formed through the incident of violence, sabotage and arson.

Former PM raised questions on Nepal’s interim government

During this, former Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli also questioned the intention of the current leadership of the country. He said, ‘What does the government think that we will run abroad by handing over the country in their hands? We have to make this country. We have to make this country constitutional and democratic and bring the politics here back on track. We will bring the rule of law again in the country.

KP Oli also made a statement on rumors related to violence

The former Prime Minister of Nepal has also made a statement about the rumors related to violence during this period, which is being associated with them. He said, ‘Another rumor has been raised by taking my name. People are being provoked to say that give me a gun, I will kill him, give me a sword, I will cut it and give me a drone, so I will attack him. All these things are being spread with great enthusiasm. But what was my role in this?

He said, ‘Hearing the news of firing, I gathered information about it. I was told that only rubber bullets were used, but later I came to know that 14 people had died. I want to ask how did those people get shot in their heads? How can I stop it?’

The process of formation of the interim government under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki in Nepal is caught in the deadlock. The leaders of Nepal are divided on whether Parliament should be dissolved before taking over Karki.

The formation of an interim administration under the leadership of Sushila Karki has been politically a widespread agreement, but the process got stuck in the middle during the tripartite talks between Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel, Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel and representatives of the Gen-G movement. Both Karki and Jane-G leader Sudan Gurung are adamant on the fact that the House of Representatives should be dissolved before taking oath.

What is the constitutional process to dissolve Parliament in Nepal?

According to the Constitution of Nepal, Parliament can be dissolved only after the Prime Minister’s recommendation and the approval of the President. This process in 2020 and 2021, the then Prime Minister K.K. P. Sharma was adopted twice under Oli’s rule, but in both the cases, the Supreme Court intervened and re -established the Parliament.

President Paudel is alerted by the recurrence of constitutional disputes and advocating a path that maintains institutional validity.

I will not take over PM without dissolving Parliament- Karki

A close friend of Nepal’s President Paudel said, “This entire process should be under the constitutional structure.” However, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki made it clear that she would not take over as an interim Prime Minister without dissolving Parliament.

Debate on the formation of interim government

Due to this difference, the formation of the interim government is currently hanging in the balance. The discussions are arguing whether President Paudel should dissolve Parliament just before Karki’s swearing in, or Karki should take the oath of Prime Minister first and after that the Parliament should be dissolved with his recommendation.

By connecting Nepal’s violence, many types of false messages are being spread in social media in India too. Maharashtra Police has taken cognizance of this. The police is on alert mode. The work is being done to stop any kind of messages that create malice or disturbance among the people.

Maharashtra’s Home Minister Yogesh Kadam said, “The components who try to bring unrest by trying to create any violence through social media or spreading a wrong message or rumor, we have a strong eye on them.”

What is Yogesh Kadam’s assessment?

Kadam further said, “The social media policy of the Center and the state is quite hard. Our cyber cell is strong. We have not let us spread rumors on social media, it has been cut off in between.”

Kadam, while assessing his assessment, also said that in view of the violence in Nepal, the influenus of China should also be seen in it. He said, “It is very important to understand why this happened in Nepal. I have some PhD in international politics, but China’s Influences on Nepal are an angle that should be considered. Social media was completely banned without giving any beloved information, I thought it was a very strong decision.”

Yogesh Kadam further said, “Social media has become a medium of communication to keep a contact. When such decisions are made, it is absolutely untreated. It is my analysis, I am not speaking on the basis of any political or information, but what I believe is so.”

PM had to resign

On Monday (September 8) in Nepal, students started a protest against social media ban. This performance took a big form. On Tuesday, the houses of big leaders were set on fire in the capital Kathmandu. Hundreds of vehicles were set on fire. During the protest, 30 people died in action. Meanwhile, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had to resign. Now the interim government is awaited in Nepal.

Many Indian and foreign tourists have been trapped in Kathmandu amid violent protests going on in Nepal. In view of the violence, citizens have requested help from the Indian Embassy. He said that the situation here is very tense and we are very scared.

An Indian tourist trapped after violent protests in Nepal said in a conversation with IANS, ‘We contacted the Indian Embassy to get out of here. He advised us to stay in his hotel. The situation here is very tense and we are very scared.

Another citizen said, ‘The situation in Nepal is very bad. Incidents of stone pelting and arson are also being seen. I came with my friends to visit Nepal on 8 September. After the situation deteriorated here, he contacted the Indian embassy and he has asked to stay in a safe place.

An Indian tourist said, ‘I came to visit Nepal with friends, but after we arrived, curfew was imposed. Now the situation has increased a lot. The sooner we can get out of here, the better. We have to face problems for eating and drinking here.

A German tourist trapped in Kathmandu expressed deep concern over the situation in Kathmandu amid violent demonstrations and curfew in Nepal. The German tourist said, ‘The situation is very bad. Yesterday I saw a lot of smoke rising from hotels. They were burning and innocent people are dying here. This is very sad. I wish that the situation will be normal soon.

Meanwhile, the Government of India has advised its citizens to postpone the journey to Nepal till the situation is normal and those who are already there should stay in homes and follow the local administration guidelines.

The Pashupatinath temple, one of the holiest religious places in Nepal, has been closed for visitors on Wednesday due to increasing violent demonstrations. The Nepal army has been deployed to ensure the safety of the temple premises and maintain peace. According to official sources, at least 22 people died and more than 500 people were injured in clashes between protesters and security forces on Monday.
