The injured have been admitted to the Winning Army Community Hospital after giving primary treatment on the spot. After the incident, the military base was temporarily closed temporarily after 11 am local time.

The FBI’s Savannah office, along with the Army Criminal Investigation Department (CID), is investigating the case. At the same time, the White House has confirmed that former President Donald Trump has been informed about the incident and the administration is keeping an eye on the situation. Expressing deep grief over the incident, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp said, “We are in constant touch with local law enforcement agencies. Marti, our daughters and I am deeply hurt by this tragedy in Fort Stewart.”
