China has shown a positive attitude towards the recent visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India, saying that strong trilateral relations between India, China and Russia are important not only for regional but also global stability and peace. This statement of China has come at a time when relations between Russia and China are already strong and India-China relations are moving towards normalization.

‘India-China-Russia are important pillars of the Global South’- Ministry of External Affairs
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said in a press briefing that China, India and Russia are emerging economies and important voices of the Global South. He said that strong and lasting cooperation between these three countries will not only be beneficial for them but will also contribute to global security, development and prosperity. Guo said, ‘Keeping trilateral cooperation strong is in the interest of all countries and will prove beneficial for stability in Asia and the entire world.’

Guo Jiakun said that India, Russia and China are major developing economies and important partners of the Global South.

He said that maintaining good relations between these three countries is not only important for mutual interests. pic.twitter.com/LZNeZno4Fi

 — RT Hindi (@RT_hindi_) December 8, 2025

Towards improvement in India-China relations
China has also given positive signals on India-China relations, which have cooled down since the 2020 tension in Eastern Ladakh. Guo Jiakun said that Beijing is committed to making relations with India natural, stable and strong with a long-term perspective. He said, ‘We are ready to handle these relations with India from a strategic and long-term perspective, so that the people of both the countries can get real benefits.’

China’s reaction to Putin’s statement
Beijing was keeping an eye on the deepening Russia-India relations. In an interview given before his visit to India, Putin had described India and China as Russia’s closest friends and expressed confidence that both the countries can resolve their disputes on their own. Responding to this statement, China said that it is ready to pursue strong bilateral cooperation with both Russia and India. China’s state media gave prominence to these statements of Putin, in which he also rejected American criticism on India buying oil from Russia.

Many agreements during Putin’s visit to India
President Vladimir Putin came on an official visit to India on 4-5 December. This was his first visit to India after 2021. During this period, many important agreements related to trade, defence, energy and investment were signed. Both countries aimed to increase bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2030 and approved a long-term economic cooperation program.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Friday, November 21) left for Johannesburg, South Africa, where he will participate in the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit to be held from 21 to 23 November 2025. This conference is being hosted by South Africa and the special thing is that for the first time the G20 summit is going to be organized in the African continent. Also, this is the fourth consecutive time that the G20 conference is being held in the Global South.

Leaving for a visit on the invitation of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Prime Minister Modi said that this conference is important in many ways. He reminded that under India’s G20 presidency (2023), the African Union was given permanent membership of the G20 and now holding this summit in Africa further strengthens that historic step.

What is the theme of this year’s G20 conference?

The theme of this year’s G20 conference has been kept as ‘Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability’. This theme carries forward the continuity of the last two summits held in India and Brazil. PM Modi said that he will present India’s vision in the conference based on the thinking of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – One Earth, One Family, One Future.

PM Modi will meet people of Indian origin

During the conference, Prime Minister Modi will also attend the 6th IBSA (India-Brazil-South Africa) Summit. Here strategic cooperation, global challenges, economic partnership and development agenda will be discussed between the three countries.

A large number of people of Indian origin live in South Africa and PM Modi said that he is also eager to meet the Indian community there. This Indian diaspora is one of the largest Indian diaspora groups in the world.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, General of Pakistan and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), commented on the power of New India in the 21st century, describing India as a powerful player in the new world order, an important part of the Global South and an aspirational country.

Addressing the program ‘Balancing Relationship Between Global North and Global South: Challenges and Opportunities’ organized in Islamabad, the General said, “Ladies and Gentlemen, in short I would like to say that India is an important country of the Global South and an ambitious country with an important place in the world order.”

These allegations were made against India

In the statement, General Shamshad Mirza described India as an “imperialist” and a country pursuing a policy of expansionism and said that India promotes fundamentalism, disregards UN resolutions and violates human rights. He described India as a possible ‘Trojan Horse’ of the Global South.

Suggestion to resolve dispute through third party

General Shamshad Mirza also said that mediation of third countries or international organizations is necessary to resolve the disputes between India and Pakistan. He said, “We will welcome such efforts by any country, multipolar panel or international organization.”

Comment on India’s military power and politics

Describing the Indian Army as militarized from a political point of view, the General said that this mix is dangerous for regional stability. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said that India used military power and Western support for its dominance.

Global South and India’s role

The Global South is a group of developing countries located in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Oceania. These countries are emerging economically, socially and politically and have often historically faced colonialism and resource exploitation.

India is a major leader of the Global South. It strengthens the voices of these countries through the G-77, Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and other forums. During its G20 presidency in 2023, India prioritized issues of the Global South, particularly supporting these countries through climate finance, technical assistance, digital technology, renewable energy and vaccine diplomacy (COVAX).

Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshall Aseem Munir will visit a week’s tour of 3 countries...

Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshall Aseem Munir will visit a week’s tour of 3 countries from July 20, which is believed to be a desperate attempt to revive the declining influence of Islamabad in Global South (Global South). CNN-News18 quoted the Pakistani Army sources as saying that Munir will travel to Sri Lanka from July 20-22, stay in China and then travel to Indonesia from July 24-26.

This journey of Munir may seem to be a normal military diplomacy, but both Pakistan and China are nervous about India’s growing stature in the global south. In such a situation, this journey program of Munir is a restless attempt to reduce the growing influence of New Delhi.

China is putting pressure on Islamabad
Actually, China is desperate with India’s leadership role on forums like G20, BRICS and IMEC. Therefore, Islamabad is quietly putting pressure on. It is not a hidden thing that China and Pakistan often work together in terms of combating Indian influence and Munir’s travel plans reflect this synergy.

Islamabad may be present as a goodwill travel or defense cooperation effort, but the reality is that Pakistan’s credibility in the global South is at its lowest level in decades. The Pakistani army is trying to remain relevant due to stains on its global image due to the extreme economy, domestic politics, anarchy and terrorism.

Why did India’s special friends choose Sri Lanka and Indonesia?
By choosing Sri Lanka and Indonesia, Pakistan is clearly trying to include itself in India’s broad influence. India has good relations with these two countries. During Kovid-19, the vaccine was given financial assistance to diplomacy and Sri Lanka by India.

As India’s American, France and even parts of Africa and Latin America are constantly becoming good tails, Pakistan and China are constantly feeling isolated. India has established defense and economic partnership with countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

India’s increasing impact in global South
Pakistan’s military elite class believes that opportunities for high-level tour and photographs can replace continuous development partnership and long-term reliability, but the global South countries are no longer affected by appearances. They are rapidly bending to countries that can provide stability, development and real support, while Pakistan cannot do anything like this.

PM Modi in Brics Summit 2025: At the 17th BRICS conference held at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept India’s vision strongly. He said that when India will be chaired by BRICS, this organization will move forward with a new idea of ’strength for cooperation and stability’. PM Modi said, Global South will get priority under India’s BRICS. He said, BRICS will mean flexibility and innovation for cooperation and stability. We will pursue this platform with humanity earlier feelings and public-focused approaches.

India will give a new identity to BRICS
Prime Minister Modi said that under the chairmanship of India, BRICS will get a new objective, which will promote cooperation, strength and stability in the world. This will not be only a platform, but will be the center of expectations of all developing countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that while some countries measure climate change only in data, India has won it in its rites. Climate Justice is not an alternative to India but a moral duty, because the health of the earth and human health are deeply connected to each other. He emphasized that the confidence in the developed countries should be the same in developing countries. Referring to Kovid epidemic, he said that this crisis has taught us that neither viruses bring visas nor solutions are selected by looking at passports.

The voice of small countries will be strong
Modi insisted that the time has come to listen to small and developing countries in institutions around the world. He said that India supports the fact that everyone should get equal rights and participation. New technology such as artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence) was also discussed in the meeting. Prime Minister Modi said that this technology should not be limited only to rich countries, but everyone should get its benefits.

Modi’s strict message on terrorism
The Prime Minister said that terrorism is the biggest threat to the whole of humanity today. Referring to the attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir this year, he said, “It was an attack not only on India but the whole world.” He said that strict action should be taken against the countries which give money, training or shelter to terrorism. There should be no double attitude on this issue. India thanks BRICS for the fact that it strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack.

Solidarity is necessary
Prime Minister Modi appealed to all countries not to keep tolerance against terrorism at all. He said that this fight is not only of India, but it is the responsibility of the whole world.

BRICS Nations Condemned Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: The BRICS summit 2025 witnessed a major diplomatic victory...

BRICS Nations Condemned Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: The BRICS summit 2025 witnessed a major diplomatic victory for India when the joint manifesto (Joint Declaration) was strongly condemned by the terror attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 innocent people were killed and many were injured in this attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the stage to support Pakistan to support terrorism and appealed to global leaders for solidarity against terror.

Talk of zero tolerance against terrorism
The BRICS manifesto stated that terrorism is not acceptable in any form. Regardless of its purpose, it should not be associated with any religion, race, nationality or civilization. All terrorist organizations and their supporters should be punished.

Strict condemnation of Pahalgam attack
The BRICS called the Pahalgam attack as ‘extremely condemnable’ and ‘crime’. This is the first time that a terrorist attack in India was so clearly condemned on a platform like BRICS. The manifesto appealed to all countries to take strict steps against terrorism without any double standards.

PM Modi described Pakistan as a supporter of terror
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address that India is a victim of terrorism, while Pakistan is a supporter of terrorism. He also said that the victims and supporters of terrorism cannot be weighed on the same scales. PM Modi also took a dig at those keeping silence and said that silence on terror should not be accepted for political gains.

PM Modi further said, ‘In this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt gratitude to those friendly countries who expressed support and condolences. Condemning terrorism should be our ‘principle’ and not only ‘facility’. If we first see in which country the attack took place, against whom, then it will be a betrayal of humanity.

Emphasis on need to improve security council
BRICS leaders reiterated the demand for comprehensive reform in the United Nations Security Council to make it more democratic. Emphasized to make the voice of Global South more effective in particular.

PM modi on global south: At the 17th BRICS Summit held at Rio de Janeiro...

PM modi on global south: At the 17th BRICS Summit held at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke vocal about the concerns of Global South. He said that Global South has got only symbolic support on issues like climate finance, sustainable development and technical access. PM Modi’s statement came at a time when the member countries of BRICS are discussing the issues of global development and cooperation.

Dual criteria adopted with global South
PM Modi said that a double attitude has been adopted with global South in matters like distribution and security of development resources. He clarified that the real needs of these countries are being ignored and only nominal help is being given.

The Prime Minister also said that global institutions set up in the last century never gave correct representation to the two-thirds of humanity. Countries which have a big contribution to the economy of today’s world, did not get a place in the major meetings making decisions. He called it a question of credibility and effectiveness of institutions not only of representation, but also. He said that without global South, these institutions are such that there is a SIM in mobile, but there is no network.

India committed to contribute to global interests
In his address, the Prime Minister said that India has always been giving priority to the interests of humanity and it is fully committed to making creative contribution on all important issues with BRICS countries. He also said that India has ever worked not only for its selfishness, but for world welfare.

Welcome new countries in BRICS
Speaking on the expansion of BRICS, PM Modi said that the inclusion of new friendly countries shows that this organization has the ability to mold itself over time. This expansion reflects the increasing relevance and global effect of the BRICS.

President of China and Russia not joined
This time Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not participate in the BRICS conference. However, leaders of other member countries, including Prime Minister Modi, were present in the conference and shared views on global subjects.

Brics are expanding
The BRICS, which was limited to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, included Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates in 2024. After this, Indonesia also became a member in 2025. With this expansion, a total of 10 countries have now joined the BRICS.

PM Modi was involved in family photo
At the BRICS summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other leaders participated in the traditional ‘Family Photo’ session. In the picture, Brazilian President Lula Dr. Silva, South African President Cyril Ramafosa and representatives of other seven countries and representatives were seen with Prime Minister Modi.

PM Modi Addresses Trinidad and Tobago Parliament: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit...

PM Modi Addresses Trinidad and Tobago Parliament: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to 5 countries these days. After Ghana, PM Modi reached Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday (July 3, 2025). In Port of Spain on Friday, he said that the voice of developing countries is not being raised strongly and India will work with its partners to get Global South a proper place on the right platform.

Addressing the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, the Prime Minister said that terrorism is an enemy of humanity and the global community should unite to give it a shelter or no place. PM Modi said that during the chairmanship of India G20, the concerns of Global South were brought to the center of the global decision process.

Free trade is under pressure- PM Modi

He said that our partnerships are based on respect and unconditional. PM Modi clearly said this to give the difference between the perspective of India and China for Global South. The first Prime Minister of India, the first Prime Minister to address the Parliament of the Caribbean country, said that free trade is under pressure and is facing challenges of world climate change, food, health and energy security.

He said that the old institutions are struggling to bring peace and progress. Meanwhile, global South is emerging. The countries involved in this want to see a new and more fair world system. PM Modi said that when 75 years of establishment of the United Nations were completed, there was great hope in developing countries. It was expected that the pending improvements would be realized for a long time. Eventually our voice will be heard, but that hope turned into despair.

‘Terrorism is the enemy of humanity’

PM Modi called terrorism a serious threat and called for concerted efforts to deal with it. Modi said that terrorism is an enemy of humanity. This Red House (Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago) has seen the wounds of terrorism and the blood of innocent people flowing.

Global South includes the countries that are considered less developed in terms of technology and social development. These countries are mainly located in the southern hemisphere. This includes countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
