After imposing 50 percent tariff on India towards US President Donald Trump, the whole world is keeping an eye on it. After the increased distance from America regarding trade, now the relations between China and India are becoming normal. PM Modi will go to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit to be held from 31 August to 1 September. After the military clash in Galwan, PM Modi will go to China for the first time.

‘America cannot affect India’s policy’

This visit of PM Modi will take place at a time when America has imposed 50 percent tariff on India to buy oil from Russia. The Indian Prime Minister made it clear that we will protect our interests under any circumstances. After China’s official newspaper Global Times Tariff, an article has been written about the relations between India and China. It said that America cannot affect India’s independent foreign policy.

‘India and China are increasing global influence’

The Global Times wrote that the news of PM Modi’s visit to China has increased in the international community. It said, “China and India together represent more than one-third of the world’s population. Both the economies and their global influences are increasing. After the military conflict in the Galwan in 2020, India and China’s relations were long fluctuations. There was a great impact on economic relations, political confidence due to strong relations between the two countries during the past few years.”

Global Times mentioned the proverb of Hindus

The Global Times further wrote, “China-India are neighbors and the list of areas where they can cooperate is long. If Modi’s visit to China this time, it will create a new platform for cooperation between China and India. The counter terrorism, business and cultural exchange will have shared interests of India-China in areas like trade, trade and cultural exchange. There will be strong interests of both countries through SCOs, which will lead to strengthening of both countries through SCO, which will benefit both countries, not only the development of both countries will be strengthened. Rather, it will contribute to regional peace and prosperity. As there is a saying among Hindus that your brother’s boat crosses and your boat itself will reach the shore. “

It wrote, “A better relationship between India and China has a positive impact on the world. We welcome Prime Minister Modi’s visit to China with the true intention of improving bilateral relations and practical cooperation schemes and starting a new chapter of dancing with Dragon (China) and elephant (India).”

Reuters x account blocked in India: On Saturday (July 5, 2025), the official X (first Twitter) account of International News Agency Reuters was blocked in India. However, no official information has been revealed by the government or agency regarding this blocking, but many users have shared a post on social media on this issue.

From late Saturday evening, the X handle of reuters was not being accessed in India. On the handle, the message of Reuters has been withheld in in response to a legal demand (this handle has been stopped in India in response to legal demand) was visible. Shortly after this, the X account of Reuters World also blocked in India. However, the clear reason behind the blocking has not been revealed.

Which accounts did not affect?

Other X accounts like Reuters Tech News, Reuters Fact Check, Reuters Pictures, Reuters Asia and Reuters China are still available in India and can be accessed in India. There has been a debate on social media. Some people are calling it an essential step in terms of security and information control of the country, while some are considering it to stop freedom of expression.

What do X guidelines say?

According to X’s guidelines, any handle or content can be blocked on the basis of local laws and valid legal demand (eg court order). This report is filed through special support channels.

These channels were also banned

After the British News Agency Reuters (Reuters), the X (first Twitter) accounts of Turkish government channel TRT World and China’s official newspaper Global Times have been blocked in India. At present, no official reason has been given by the Government of India.
