Today (Monday), new GST rates have been implemented in the country. The government has given great relief to the common people. Now two main slabs of GST will be 5 percent and 18 percent. To improve the rates of GST, I will benefit from the people of Bihar, Shri Narendra Modi, from the people of Bihar, I will benefit from this improvement.”

With the implementation of these new GST rates, the GROSS Domestic Product of the country will increase and people of all classes, especially the lower and middle class, will get special relief.”

Finally he wrote, “GST reforms under the visionary leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister have brought happiness for every family.
On GST 2.0, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, “GST 2.0 is not just a tax reform under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, but it is a resolve to give a new direction to India’s economy.

Goods and service tax: Many important changes were implemented in the recent meeting of GST Council. This has made the tax system much easier, transparent than ever. Many things are also expected to become cheap with GST reforms. Let us tell you that France is the first country in the world, where GST was first implemented in 1954. Today it is applicable in more than 160 countries of the world. It was implemented in India in the year 2017.

GST proposal was kept in the year 2000

In the beginning of 2000, the first proposal for GST was presented. Atal Vihari Bajpai was the Prime Minister of the country at that time. A committee was formed under his supervision, which was given the responsibility of preparing the blueprint of GST. After this, there was a long discussion on this for about 16-17 years. In 2016, Parliament passed it. Then the GST Council was formed. Finally, July 1, 2017, it was implemented across the country. During that time it was named ‘One Nation, One Tax’.

Why GST came into force in India and its benefits?

Its purpose was to replace many indirect taxes like VAT, service tax, excise duty with unified tax system. At the same time, reduce tax burden on consumers and to make the tax system easier. The implementation of GST in the country was the biggest improvement in the tax system since independence. Earlier Four Tier- 5 percent, 12 percent, 18 percent, 28 percent was the tax structure, which has been reduced to two-tier-5 percent and 18 percent after the recent GST improvement.

Overall, the purpose of lowering GST was to implement a unified tax by getting rid of the people of the country from many different taxes. This made the business easier due to the implementation of the same rule in the whole country. Since this digital based is an online tax system, tax evasion was also banned due to being more transparent. This also increased the government’s earnings.

GST on Printing Paper: Recently, after the GST reform, it has now been reduced to two slabs at the first four slabs, which will be effective from 22 September. After this, the prices of most things will be reduced. But the decision of GST Council may increase the price of books. The special reason for this is that GST rates on paper on which books are printed have increased from 12 percent to 18 percent.

Books can be expensive

According to the publishers of the book, the direct burden of this move of the government is going to fall on the pocket of the students because the prices of the book are going to be expensive now. However, in protest against this move of the government, the businessmen of the book have written their concerns to the government by writing letters.

In the GST Council meeting, on one hand, the GST has been completely abolished on stationery like maps, notebooks, rubber, register, pencil and drawing. GST was earlier charged on these goods at the rate of 12 percent.

But, on the papers on which the book is printed, GST rates have been increased from 12 percent to 18 percent. After this it is believed that books will become expensive after printing.

Educational federation raised the issue

According to the Indian Educational Federation, the textbooks will not be able to be cheap as per the efforts of the government because there are discrepancies in GST slab, due to which their prices may increase. According to the federation President Gopal Sharma and General Secretary Rajesh Gupta, stationery and practice books have definitely been given relief in GST, but those books have been kept in high slabs, which will be used for textbooks.

According to the people of the publication world, only 60 to 70 percent of the cost of any textbook is spent on paper. In such a situation, if the cost of printing increases, then the price of books will also increase.

Also read: India is going to take these steps soon amidst the increasing pressure of America, after that Trump will keep watching

Before Diwali, the government has announced a change in GST rates, giving great relief. The new rates will be implemented from September 22 and people will have to pay low prices from soap-shampoo to milk curd and AC-TV to cars. Next week Apple is going to launch its iPhone 17 series. In such a situation, some people may feel that they will not have to put much emphasis on their pockets to buy a new iPhone. Let us know if this is really going to happen.

IPhone prices will not be affected

The official prices of Apple iPhone 17 Series have not been announced yet. According to some reports, the initial price of this series in India can be Rs 84,499. Changes in GST rates will not affect these prices. The reason for this is that smartphones are in the 18 percent tax slab. Earlier, 18 percent GST used to be levied on them and still have to pay the same tax. There has been no change in the GST on the smartphone. In such a situation, customers will have to pay the same tax as earlier for the iPhone as well as all the smartphones. Because of this, mobile prices have not been cut like smart TV and AC.

Demand was made from the government

The India Cellular and Electronics Association (Icea) had demanded the government to bring the smartphone into a 5 percent slab. He said that the phones have now become a need and Digital India has an important tool. Before the arrival of GST, most of the states used to keep mobile phones in the category of essential goods. At present, the government has not accepted this demand. Let us know that at the beginning of GST, there was a 12 percent tax on the smartphone, which was increased to 18 percent in 2020.

The government has made huge changes in the rates of GST. Due to this, the price ranging from household use to electronics items is going to be a huge decrease. The new rates will be applicable from September 22 and people will be able to take advantage of the low prices while shopping for Diwali. This decision has reduced the prices of smart TV, AC and dishwasher etc. There is also a question in the minds of many people that now the smartphones of other companies including Apple and Samsung will be cheap? Let’s know the answer to this question.

Will smartphone prices decrease?

People looking for smartphones being cheap will be some timely disappointment. The latest decision of the government has not affected the prices of mobile phones. Earlier, 18 percent GST used to be on the smartphone and it will still continue. Due to this, the prices of smartphones will not be reduced at the moment. However, it was already being speculated that customers are not going to get any relief on smartphone prices.

Why didn’t the smartphones become cheap?

According to media reports, sources associated with the industry already expected that the price of the smartphone would not be reduced. He says that if there was any discussion about 12 percent slab, there would have been a little hope, but now the bottom slab is 5 percent from 18 percent. In such a situation, it was difficult to bring the smartphone into this slab. However, the India Cellular and Electronics Association had demanded the government to keep the smartphone in a 5 percent slab. He said that the phones have now become a need and Digital India has an important tool. Before the arrival of GST, most of the states used to keep mobile phones in the category of essential goods. Let us know that at the beginning of GST, there was a 12 percent tax on the smartphone, which was increased to 18 percent in 2020.
