Tech AI company Google has announced to start a new AI training program for teachers and students across the country. The company made this announcement during the Education World Forum 2026 held in London. Google says that this initiative is in line with the goal of India’s new education policy i.e. AEP 2020, which aims to promote technology-based education and skill development. The company will now work on strengthening AI tools and digital learning systems in higher education institutes in schools, so that students and teachers can be prepared for an AI-based future in the coming times.

Google AI Educator Series started

Under this initiative, Google has announced the launch of Google AI Educator Series. This will be a mobile first training program, which has been specially designed for Indian teachers. Initially this program will be started in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Assam as well as Union Territory Ladakh and Punjab School Education Board. According to Google, the purpose of the training is to make teachers understand how AI tools can be used responsibly in the classroom. How can studies be made more effective and interactive? The company said that this training will be mobile friendly, so that teachers can learn easily from anywhere. In the initial phase, it will be made available in 6 Indian languages ​​including Hindi, Assamese, Marathi, Telugu, Oriya and Punjabi.

AI training will be done in three parts

Google AI Educator Series has been prepared in different modules. In this, teachers will be given training from basic understanding of AI to its use in the classroom. In the first part, basic information about AI will be given, in the second part, it will be taught how Gemini AI tools can be used to increase learning and student engagement. The third part will focus on the use of AI in everyday administrative tasks like checking assignments, giving feedback and preparing reports. In this program, there will be short sessions of 10 to 15 minutes for teachers from K to 12, while for teachers of higher education institutions, there will be extended sessions of 30 to 45 minutes. A digital badge will also be given on completion of each module.

Google said that this training will be completely free and in this, teachers will get hands-on experience of Gemini Notebook LM and other AI tools. The company says that the purpose of AI is not to replace teachers, but to make their work easier so that they can focus on students. According to Google, with the help of AI based tools, studies can be personalized and made easier as per the needs of the students.
