After Diwali, the festival of Govardhan Puja is celebrated. On this day, people worship by making figures of Govardhan Parvat and Shri Krishna from cow dung in their courtyards or open places.

It is more auspicious to perform Govardhan Puja with everyone rather than alone. But take special care that people attending Govardhan Puja should not do the puja wearing black clothes.

It is important to circumambulate Govardhan during the puja. While doing parikrama, do not wear shoes or slippers, rather do parikrama with bare feet. Also, do not leave the parikrama halfway.
