GST on Printing Paper: Recently, after the GST reform, it has now been reduced to two slabs at the first four slabs, which will be effective from 22 September. After this, the prices of most things will be reduced. But the decision of GST Council may increase the price of books. The special reason for this is that GST rates on paper on which books are printed have increased from 12 percent to 18 percent.

Books can be expensive

According to the publishers of the book, the direct burden of this move of the government is going to fall on the pocket of the students because the prices of the book are going to be expensive now. However, in protest against this move of the government, the businessmen of the book have written their concerns to the government by writing letters.

In the GST Council meeting, on one hand, the GST has been completely abolished on stationery like maps, notebooks, rubber, register, pencil and drawing. GST was earlier charged on these goods at the rate of 12 percent.

But, on the papers on which the book is printed, GST rates have been increased from 12 percent to 18 percent. After this it is believed that books will become expensive after printing.

Educational federation raised the issue

According to the Indian Educational Federation, the textbooks will not be able to be cheap as per the efforts of the government because there are discrepancies in GST slab, due to which their prices may increase. According to the federation President Gopal Sharma and General Secretary Rajesh Gupta, stationery and practice books have definitely been given relief in GST, but those books have been kept in high slabs, which will be used for textbooks.

According to the people of the publication world, only 60 to 70 percent of the cost of any textbook is spent on paper. In such a situation, if the cost of printing increases, then the price of books will also increase.

Also read: India is going to take these steps soon amidst the increasing pressure of America, after that Trump will keep watching

In the festive season, every person does some shopping. But this time on festivals, everyday...

In the festive season, every person does some shopping. But this time on festivals, everyday things like TV, AC will not put much weight on the pocket, the reason is the new GST rates. The GST Council has decided to simplify the tax slab. Currently, there are four main rates of GST 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%. But now the government has proposed that these rates should be reduced to only two main slabs and 18%. All decisions of GST Council will be implemented from 22 September. But the question is, how much will this GST cut reduce the prices of Split AC? Let’s understand the whole account of this.

How low will AC prices be

If you too are thinking of taking AC in the coming time, then this is a relief news for you. Currently, the highest GST rate of 28% is applied to the air conditioner, which is being considered to be reduced to 18 percent. As soon as the proposal is implemented, it will directly affect the prices of AC. After the reduction in GST, the prices of AC can be reduced from Rs 1500 to Rs 2500.

How will the price be low

If you talk about the old GST rate (28%), then suppose a 1.5 ton AC price is Rs 41990 because 28% GST is charged, then its base prize is Rs 32,805. Whereas with the implementation of the new GST rate i.e. 18%, its price will be reduced to Rs 38,709. That is, the prices of AC will save about 3 thousand rupees. This change will not only bring relief for consumers, but can also promote the sales of AC in the festive season.

Common man will get great relief

Before this new GST rate, where the common man used to think about the high prices of AC and fear of electricity bill many times, he can now take advantage of this change. The price of GST is 28% to 18% can reduce the price of Split AC from Rs 1,500 to 2,500. Which depends on the model and price. This is not only beneficial for consumers, but will also give new pace to the AC industry.

Indian Business Leaders on GST Reforms: In the midst of tension on tariffs from the US, India was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 79th Independence Day by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote domestic economy on the 79th Independence Day. After this, the four slabs of GST were replaced by two slabs and most of the taxes were reduced considerably or completely removed on most of the everyday things. This change will be applicable from 22 September.

It is believed that this will increase the government burden and will affect the income from tax, but it will have a very positive impact on the economy and employment. This is also expected to speed up the speed of GDP.

What do big businessmen say?

Indian business personalities have also welcomed this decision of the government. Radhika Gupta, MD and CEO of Edelweiss Asset Management, described it as a progressive step in challenging time on social media and said that this will strengthen both demand and positive trends. Industrialist Harsh Goenka called it a Diwali gift for the common people and said that the prices of goods related to everyday things, healthcare, education and agriculture have been reduced.

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra also described it as a positive step and said that such reforms will promote investment and consumption and strengthen India’s position globally. He stressed the need for more improvements, citing Swami Vivekananda’s famous teachings.

Prior to these reactions, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday announced the reduction of GST rates on everyday things, automobiles, electronic devices and agricultural goods.
A big decision related to the hotel industry has been taken in the 56th GST...

A big decision related to the hotel industry has been taken in the 56th GST Council meeting. Now hotel rooms with up to Rs 7,500 per day will be replaced by only 5% GST instead of 12% GST. That too without input tax credit (ITC).

This step will provide relief not only to the hotel owners but also to the passengers directly. Especially for people who come from middle class groups. The tourism sector contributes more than 5% to India’s GDP. With the reduction of GST, speed can be seen in this area.

Benefits for middle class and budget passengers
Nikhil Sharma, MD and CO (South Asia) of Radisson Hotel Group, said that this decision would make quality hospitality more economical for middle class passengers. He said that by reducing the burden of initial tax, the government has done a good job for the medium market and budget hotels. That is, now a middle class family or budget passenger will have to pay less tax than before in the hotel. This will directly affect the demand for domestic tourism and the number of passengers will increase.

Effect on hospitality industry
President of Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) K.K. Shyama Raju says that this improvement will make hotels more economical and attractive not only for domestic but also for international travelers. He informed that the hotel industry already contributes a big contribution to GDP and employment generation. This reduction in tax rate will increase the demand for tourism, promote the second expenses in hotel service and create more employment for youth and women.

The old demand for hotel industry and the path ahead
FHRAI and Hotel Association of India (HIA) had been demanding for a long time that 5% GST should be implemented with input tax credit (ITC) on all hospitality and tourism services. However, the GST Council has just implemented 5% without ITC. Despite this, Hotel Industries believes that this is a positive step, which will work to increase the competition of the hospitality sector. If 5% GST is applied with ITC in the coming time, then the global status of India’s hotel industry can be stronger.

GST couricil meeting: A two -day meeting of the GST Council has started from Wednesday...

GST couricil meeting: A two -day meeting of the GST Council has started from Wednesday under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and big announcements can be made on Thursday. It is believed that this meeting will be an important step towards implementing the GST reform announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

The aim of the government is to provide a big relief package to the general public, middle class, small traders and farmers before Diwali through this meeting. That is why it has been called ahead of schedule.

Possible major decisions of GST meeting

1. Two slabs instead of four slabs

Currently, four tax slabs of 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% are applicable in GST. In the meeting, they are being considered to reduce only two slabs (5% and 18%).

2. Everyday things will be cheaper

Electronic items like TV, washing machine, fridge are currently in 28% GST slab. It is proposed to shift them to 18% slab, which will make these products cheap. There are plans to bring them to 5%, which are currently in 12% slabs like ghee, betel nut, water bottle, salty, medicines and medical equipment.

3. Luxury and harmful items will be expensive

However, while the common consumer will get relief on goods, tax can increase on luxury and harmful products. Premium cars and SUVs currently have 28% GST. It is proposed that they should be brought under the scope of tax of up to 40% under the new reform. If seen in this way, the government wants to give relief to the general public on the one hand, on the other hand, it will try to make revenue balance by increasing tax on luxury conference and harmful products.

On the other hand, the finance ministers of the opposition parties ruled the GST Council met each other before the meeting to be held on Wednesday and demanded compensation from the Central Government to compensate the revenue loss due to the proposed change in the GST rates. Finance ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal participated in this meeting.

In this meeting held last week, these states discussed that if the slabs of 12% and 28% are removed and two slabs of only 5% and 18% are kept by simplifying the tax structure, then the income of the state governments could have a big impact. In such a situation, necessary steps need to be taken to protect their revenue.

In the meeting of the GST Council to be held in early September, revolutionary changes...

In the meeting of the GST Council to be held in early September, revolutionary changes can be seen as per PM Modi’s promise. Especially the common people are likely to get big benefits. The meeting will discuss the scheme of tax cuts on several products including cement, salon and beauty parlor as well as health insurance schemes.

In this meeting, it may be considered to bring all food and textile products into a slab of 5 percent, so that the tax system in the country can be made easier and all the classification concerns can be eliminated.

‘Proposal to reduce GST from 28 percent to 18 percent on cement’
The Times of India quoted sources as saying that GST on cement is proposed to be reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent. This will fulfill the long -standing demand for construction and infrastructure areas, as the construction material is a major raw material. This will help the common people to build a house.

GST Council meeting will be held on 3-4 September
The GST Council will meet on September 3 and 4 under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in which a change will be taken to change the slab of 40 percent on 5 percent and luxury items of 5 percent and luxury items for most items and services. Although states like West Bengal have suggested to increase the GST limit by 40 percent, but sources say that there will be a big amendment in the law for this.

How much tax will be paid on cars

The Modi government believes that 18 percent tax should be imposed on small cars up to 4 meters long and 40 percent tax will be levied on big cars, which is less than the current 50 percent (28 percent GST and 22 percent cess).

The new GST (Goods and Services Tax) rates can be effective from September 22. The...

The new GST (Goods and Services Tax) rates can be effective from September 22. The important meeting of the GST Council will be held in Delhi on 3 and 4 September, in which the suggestions proposed by the Finance Ministry will be discussed. It is believed that in this meeting, the proposal of major changes in tax slabs will be considered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ramparts from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

On approval of the proposal, 2 slabs will be left in GST system
According to sources, the proposal to abolish two main GST slabs of 12 percent and 28 percent, especially in the meeting, can be discussed. If this proposal is approved, then only two slabs will be left in the Indian GST system, 5 percent and 18 percent. This change will make the tax system more simple.

40 percent tax can be imposed on tobacco-cigarette and other products
At the same time, 40 percent tax can be imposed on cigarette, tobacco and similar products instead of 28 percent tax currently applied. According to sources, the government has also sent its detailed recommendation to the GST Council for the new GST slab reorganization, on the basis of which a final decision will be taken in the upcoming meeting. The new GST rates can be announced only after this meeting. In addition to tobacco-cigarettes, cigars, other smoking products, alcohol and other alcoholic drinks are also imposed, which is determined by the state governments.

Consumers and businessmen will get big relief
Experts believe that this step will provide relief to the tax system as well as consumers and traders, as the GST Council meeting is considered very important, so only after this, complete information about the new rates and proposals will be revealed.

Next gen gst reforms: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a big announcement of GST reforms...

Next gen gst reforms: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a big announcement of GST reforms in his speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day. After the announcement of PM Modi, the Finance Ministry also made it clear that the government is currently working towards simplifying the GST structure. According to news agency PTI, officials believe that this improvement will lead India to “single tax system” in future and by 2047, a uniform tax rate may be applicable in the country.

Single tax system by 2047

At present, there are four slabs in GST – 5 percent, 12 percent, 18 percent and 28 percent. Under the new proposal, 12 percent and 28 percent slabs will be abolished. After this, most of the items will be absorbed in the rate of 5 percent and 18 percent. At the same time, it has been suggested to keep a special 40 percent tax rate for luxury and harmful items.

Officials say that this change will boost the economy and consumers will get relief from tax burden. It is being called “Next Generation GST”, as it is considered to be the most important step in the category of India’s economic reforms.

New GST reforms till Diwali

The government wants this new system to be implemented by Diwali. For this, the Center has sent a proposal to a group of finance ministers of the states. This group will study the proposal and keep its recommendation in the meeting of the GST Council to be held in September. If the council approves it, then before Diwali, consumers can start getting many items cheaper.

According to the senior official, when this new system is fully implemented and India reaches the category of developed countries, then the government can consider implementing the same rate of GST. He said that this model is suitable for developed countries, because there is almost the same to the citizens’ income and spending. However, this is not the right time for India right now.
