The earthquake in China has once again shaken it. Earthquake tremors occurred in Guangxi, southern region of China, in the early hours of Monday (May 18). The intensity of the earthquake was 5.2 on the Richter scale. Many buildings have suffered heavy damage due to the earthquake. So far, 2 people have died due to the earthquake and many are missing.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Guangxi, causing fear among the people. The local administration has evacuated more than seven thousand people to safe places and emergency service personnel are continuously carrying out relief and rescue operations. Many people are feared trapped in buildings.

13 buildings destroyed
According to China’s state media CCTV, at least 13 buildings have been destroyed by the earthquake and many people have been injured, but there is no news of anyone being seriously injured. Of the injured, 4 people have been admitted to the hospital. Two people have died due to the devastation caused by the earthquake. Public transport in the area has been affected due to the earthquake. Especially the rail traffic will be restored only after investigation.

This earthquake has not caused much damage and power lines, water supply, gas services and road traffic are running normally. The local administration has advised people to stay away from the affected buildings. Many buildings have been evacuated. The administration has intensified relief and rescue operations. People are being searched in the destroyed buildings.

Train movement affected
Chinese Railway officials said that after the earthquake, safety checks are being done regarding the strength of the railway lines. Due to this, the movement of some trains may be affected and passengers may have to face delays. China’s Disaster Management Department has increased surveillance in the area and people have been appealed to remain alert in view of the possibility of aftershocks.
