Faisal Patel, son of late Congress leader Ahmed Patel, has created a stir in the political circles by talking about starting a new group separate from the Congress. He has also said that his sister can also join him. Now his sister Mumtaz Patel has given her reaction regarding this. Refuting his brother’s claim, he has denied any intention of becoming a part of any new political party.
Mumtaz Patel wrote on social media platform My brother’s views and decisions are entirely his own. Please don’t involve me in this. Thank you.”

What did Faisal Patel write?

The screen short of the social media post of Ahmed Patel’s son Faisal Patel is going viral. In this he has written, “I am thinking of breaking the Congress party and forming a new group. This party will be named Congress (AP). My sister Mumtaz Patel can also join it.

Mumtaz also raised questions on Congress leadership

Recently, after the defeat of Congress in Bihar elections, Mumtaz Patel had raised questions on the party leadership. He had written, “No excuses, no allegations and no introspection. Now is the time to look within yourself and accept the truth. How long will the countless loyal grassroots workers, who have remained with the party through all difficult situations, wait for success?” He also alleged that due to concentration of power in the hands of a few people, they are completely cut off from the ground reality and are responsible for the repeated defeats of this old party.

A few months ago, Faisal Patel had also praised the Modi government at the Center and said that the country is in safe hands. However, during this time he had also said that he was not angry with the Congress and had taken a break for a few days from public life. It is noteworthy that late veteran leader Ahmed Patel was among the great strategists of Congress. He had won the Lok Sabha elections thrice from Bharuch, Gujarat. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha for almost three decades. He died of corona infection in the year 2020.

Gujarat Kshatriya Thakor Sena and entire Thakor community organized a Maha Sneh Milan program at Deodar. In this conference, big leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress – Congress MP Geniben Thakor, Minister Swaroopji Thakor, MLA Alpesh Thakor and Keshaji Chauhan and other leaders were seen together. In the ceremony, emphasis was laid on eliminating the customs and drugs prevalent in the society, bringing awareness towards education and maintaining unity. The leaders appealed to the society to take a pledge to become drug-free, educated and organized, and also appealed to strongly oppose laws like the Friendship Pact.

Unprecedented gathering of Thakor community leaders in Deodar

A big meeting was held on behalf of Gujarat Kshatriya Thakor Sena and the entire Thakor community at Thakor Boarding in Deodar, Banaskantha. The biggest feature of this program was that leaders of BJP and Congress were present on the same stage for the welfare of the community. In which MP Geniben Thakor, Minister Swaroopji Thakor, MLA Alpesh Thakor, Keshaji Chauhan and Amritji Thakor, many political leaders of district and taluka level and a large number of social leaders participated. A glimpse of social unity was visible in this meeting, where political leaders joined hands and gave priority to society over the party.

decision to remove evils

The main objective of the conference was to spread awareness to remove the evils going on in the society. All the leaders unanimously laid emphasis on getting free from drugs and studies. MLA Keshaji Chauhan described drugs as the enemy of the society and appealed to the youth to become strong in education and politics. The slogan of ‘Read, write, stay united’ echoed from the stage.

Statements of Geniben Thakor and Alpesh Thakor

MP Geniben Thakor expressed happiness over the coming of all the leaders on one stage. She said that she will work for the unity of the society more than any party. He gave a shocking statement and said that if the society controls customs and drugs, then the profession of three people like doctor, policeman and lawyer will be affected. He described laws like friendship agreements as dangerous and stressed the need for the society to take a strong stand against this law.

Kshatriya Thakor Sena President and MLA Alpesh Thakor also appealed to the youth to give up drug addiction and unite. Alpesh Thakor stressed on the awareness of the society and said that many people have changed with time and we also need to change. To bring awareness in the society, he has announced to hold a big meeting on 26 January at GMDC Ground in Ahmedabad.

There will be an expansion of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s cabinet in Gujarat, in which 25 new ministers will take oath today. For this, huge preparations have been made by the party. Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today paid a courtesy call on Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and informed him about the status of the Gujarat Cabinet and sought permission for the swearing-in ceremony.

There will be 25 ministers in Bhupendra Patel’s new cabinet. The list of whose names has also come out. These leaders will take oath as ministers in today’s swearing-in ceremony. These names are-

Many new faces may get place

This reshuffle in the Gujarat cabinet is being linked to the 2027 assembly elections. This time many new faces have also been included in the new cabinet. Among them there are some faces who have joined BJP from Congress. There are speculations that this time there may be two Deputy CMs in Gujarat.

In this list, the name of Rivaba, wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, is being discussed the most. Who is a first-time MLA and has been given a place in the Gujarat Cabinet for the first time. Let us tell you that earlier on Thursday, all the 16 ministers of Gujarat had submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

All 16 ministers in the Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Gujarat government have resigned. All the ministers have submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. All the ministers resigned after an important meeting on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the house of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Before the resignation, a meeting of all the ministers was held with the Chief Minister. In this meeting, the resignations of all the ministers except the Chief Minister have been accepted.

The resignations given by the ministers of Gujarat will be submitted to the Governor. All of them had their resignations ready. The ministers had signed the resignation letter. No further instructions have been given.

The process of cabinet expansion in the state has reached its final stage. First of all, BJP state president Jagdish Vishwakarma resigned. After this, all the ministers resigned one after the other. These resignations were handed over to Vishwakarma, who directed all the ministers to resign.

Interestingly, the Chief Minister did not ask for resignation from the ministers. This afternoon, a meeting of ministers was held at the residence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, in which it was decided that all the ministers would resign en masse. After this decision, now all eyes are on the announcement of the new cabinet. The swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet will be held tomorrow, Friday (October 17) at the Mahatma Temple in Gandhinagar.

The cabinet led by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is likely to be expanded before Diwali 2025. This means that there may be a change in the cabinet of Gujarat in the next five days. Sources from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have given this information.

A senior BJP leader said on Tuesday (October 14) that the state may get about 10 new ministers in the cabinet expansion.

Fear of replacement of more than half of the ministers

According to the report of news agency PTI, the leader, on the condition of not disclosing his identity, said that in the upcoming cabinet expansion and reshuffle, about half of the existing ministers are likely to be changed. Let us tell you, currently there are 17 ministers in the state cabinet including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Of these, 8 are cabinet level ministers,

Gujarat cabinet expansion may happen before October 18

The leader said, ‘There is a possibility that about 50 percent of the ministers of the current cabinet may be changed. Cabinet expansion or reshuffle can happen before October 18. There is a possibility that after this expansion, Gujarat may get 10 new ministers.

Jagdish Vishwakarma is Gujarat BJP President

Earlier this month (October 2025), Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State in the Gujarat government, was made the new president of the Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, replacing Union Minister CR Patil.

Bhupendra Patel becomes CM of Gujarat for the second time

There can be a maximum of 27 ministers in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly. Bhupendra Patel took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the second time on December 12, 2022.

Gujarat Election: Voting will be held for general and by -elections of gram panchayats on Sunday (June 22) in the state of Gujarat. The State Election Commission has announced the programs of common, partition, mid -term and by -elections of 8,326 gram panchayats. About 81 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in this polling to be held from 7 am to 6 pm on Sunday. The results of these elections will be declared on 25 June.

In these elections to be held on Sunday, cancellation has been announced in some places. Gram Panchayat elections have been canceled in Kadi, Jotana, Bhanson, Visavadar, Junagadh Rural and Bagsara taluka due to the by -elections of Kadi and Visavadar Assembly.

Election for 3,656 sarpanch in Gujarat

According to the Election Commission data, out of a total of 4,564 gram panchayats, 751 panchayats have been declared unopposed, while the seats have remained vacant due to lack of enrollment in 272 panchayats. Thus, voting will be held in 3,541 panchayats for general, division and mid -term elections and 353 panchayats for by -elections. A total of 3,656 sarpanches and 16,224 members will be held across the state.

Complete arrangement at 10,479 polling stations

Arrangements have been made at 10,479 polling stations across the state to ensure smooth polling process. Of these, 3,939 have been identified as sensitive and 336 over -sensitive centers. The EPIC card will be mandatory for voters, however, under extraordinary circumstances, can be voted with any of the 14 valid identity documents.

Voting with ballot paper

Voting will be through ballot paper. Keeping in mind the security system, additional police forces and patrols will be deployed in sensitive areas. Public meetings and public lighting have been banned 48 hours before the election.

The term of 1400 panchayats will end on 30 June

It is worth noting that more than 4,000 gram panchayats in Gujarat have been under Administrator rule for the last three years and the term of other 1,400 panchayats is going to end on 30 June 2025. These elections will be with 27% OBC, 14% ST and 7% SC reserved seats, which is in line with the Government of Gujarat’s decision of August 2023 and the recommendations of Justice Jhaveri Commission.

To promote local leadership and speed up rural development, the State Election Commission has made extensive preparations to make these elections smooth and transparent. Citizens have been appealed to actively participate in the election process and follow the Model Code of Conduct.
