If you also eat food too often, it can prove to be very dangerous for your health. In today’s busy life, people do not have time, which is affecting our daily life as well as our daily diet. People eat their food very quickly, which is a very wrong way.

According to doctors, when a person eats his food slowly, many effective changes are seen in our body, which are very beneficial for health and also play an important role in protecting us from many diseases. If you eat food slowly, it is very effective for our stomach i.e. gut health.

Why is it important to eat slowly for digestion?

According to nutritionists, when we eat food slowly and chew it more, it proves to be very beneficial for our stomach and digestive process. When food goes inside our body in small pieces, the body does not have to work hard to digest it. When we chew food too much, the production of enzymes in our saliva increases, which is very helpful in digesting food.

How does eating slowly prevent weight gain?

If a person eats food slowly, he also gets rid of the problem of weight gain. By eating food slowly, our brain gets a signal that our stomach is full and there is no need to eat more, due to which we stop eating. But if you eat food at a fast pace, then the brain does not get the signal to fill the stomach, due to which we eat more food than required. This is one of the main reasons for weight gain.

Beneficial for teeth and mouth health

Eating slowly and comfortably has a positive effect on our digestion as well as our oral health. When we eat food comfortably and by chewing it properly, our gums and teeth get proper exercise, which is necessary for their strength. Chewing food excessively increases the secretion of saliva in our mouth, which helps in eliminating the harmful bacteria present in the mouth and does not allow bad odor from the mouth to develop, thus keeping our mouth clean.

proper absorption of nutrients

Eating food slowly and chewing it thoroughly not only improves our digestion but also helps in giving strength to the body. When we chew food properly and eat comfortably, the body easily absorbs the essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals and proteins present in the food, which are necessary to keep the body healthy. But if we eat food in large pieces and hastily, our intestines are not able to break down those pieces properly, due to which the body has to work harder to absorb the nutrients, which is not at all good for health.

People know that nutritious food is very beneficial for our body, because good and nutritious food reduces the risk of stomach related diseases, which is very beneficial for our body. But do you know what type of food we should eat in our daily routine and do you know when we should eat. Many people do not know at what time we should consume food, which is very effective for our health. If you consume food at the right time, it is very good for our gut health.

Why is it easier to digest heavy food during the day?

If you consume heavy food during the day, it does not have much effect on our digestive system, because our digestive power is strongest during the day. There is something in our body that works like a clock, which is called circadian rhythm. It completes the 24 hour cycle in our body. When there is light, our body knows that it is time to wake up, work and eat and when it is dark, our body knows that it is time to rest and sleep.

Why is eating late at night harmful?

If you consume food at night, it can be very dangerous for our health and can give us stomach related diseases. When a person consumes food late at night, the body is forced to do the work of digestion at that time too, whereas late at night the body works to produce growth hormone. Due to this, we may suffer from many types of stomach related diseases, such as indigestion, flatulence and heaviness in the stomach.

right time to have dinner

According to doctors, if any person wants to remain healthy and healthy and keep his stomach healthy and avoid diseases related to it, then he will have to develop the habit of eating dinner or eating early at night, which is very beneficial for our health and also strengthens our digestive system. According to doctors, dinner should be had between 6 pm and 8 pm. Eating early dinner reduces the risk of diabetes to a great extent and good bacteria start growing in the stomach. Eating dinner early gives our digestive system more time to digest the food, which is important for our health.

Breakfast is very important to maintain energy in the body for the whole day’s running, work and hard work. It also plays an important role in keeping the intestines fit and healthy. The intestine not only does the work of digestion, but also controls the immunity, mood, energy and entire metabolism of a person. If breakfast is balanced and fiber-rich, it strengthens the gut microbiome, eases digestion and reduces stomach problems like gas, constipation, acidity. According to doctors, the first meal in the morning should be light, nutritious and keep the stomach calm. Some of the breakfasts given below are considered gut-friendly according to doctors. By eating these, fiber, vitamins and essential nutrients are replenished.

Idli, Sambar and Coconut Chutney – Perfect Gut-Friendly Breakfast

Idli, sambar and coconut chutney play an important role in keeping the intestines strong and healthy. This main breakfast of South India is considered very beneficial for gut health because its batter is made by fermenting rice and pulses. Fermentation produces probiotics, which strengthen digestion by increasing good bacteria in the gut. Sambar consists of lentils, vegetables and spices, which provide fiber, plant-based protein and antioxidants, keeping the stomach light and energy levels stable.

Whole-Grain Avocado Toast – A Great Combo of Fiber and Healthy Fats

Whole-grain avocado toast is considered a great breakfast for gut health because it provides the right mix of fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. Whole-grain bread keeps the stomach full for a longer time and improves digestion. This breakfast helps in providing essential nutrients to the body.

Moong Dal Chilla – Light, protein rich and quick to digest breakfast

Moong Dal Chilla is included in those breakfast dishes which both adults and children like. It is considered excellent for intestinal health because it is light as well as rich in protein and fiber. This cheela made by grinding soaked moong dal is easily digested and does not put any heaviness on the stomach. The protein present in it increases morning energy and keeps you from feeling hungry for a long time, while the fiber improves bowel movement and provides relief from constipation.

Poha – an easy and healthy option for gut health

Poha is a staple and healthy option for breakfast in North India. If you eat poha in the morning, it provides essential fiber to the body and provides relief from problems like flatulence or indigestion. If peanuts are eaten mixed with poha, it is even more beneficial because peanuts improve the health of the intestine.

Many times it is thought that the food you eat daily can change not only your appetite or body, but also something inside your partner’s body. It sounds strange, but the truth is that your daily food choices also affect the microbiome living inside your partner’s stomach, that is, you are sharing not only love, home and responsibilities, but also micro organisms.

A research by scientists has proved this very strongly that people who live together and eat food together, their intestinal microbiomes are similar to each other to a great extent, that is, if your food is healthy, then your partner benefits and if your food is bad, then the loss is also shared. This fact is as shocking as it is that it also forces one to think because we often believe that what I eat only affects me, but the truth is much further than this. Your food does not end up in your vessel, it makes its place in your relationship too.
What is the connection between your food habit and your partner?

There are millions and billions of small microbiomes living in our stomach. These affect digestion, energy, immunity, mood and even sleep. These are called gut microbiomes. This entire system keeps changing depending on the things you eat. Like fibre, fruits, vegetables and pulses make the microbiome strong and balanced. Whereas sugar, fast food, processed items weaken and imbalance the microbiome. When two people continuously eat the same food, use the same kitchen and live the same lifestyle, their microbiomes also gradually start becoming similar. This is the reason why intestinal health among partners is also similar in many cases.

Why does the microbiome become similar in couples living together?

According to research, there are many reasons for this. Like eating together, using similar groceries and recipes, cooking in the same kitchen, sometimes tasting from the same plate, close and physical contact, similar environmental bacteria and diet is considered to play the biggest role in all these. The way you eat, the same bacteria grow inside you and when your partner adopts the same eating habits, the same bacteria start growing inside him too.

Do bad food habits also harm your partner’s gut health?

To a great extent, bad food habits also harm the gut health of the partner. If your lifestyle includes fast food every other day, more sweets, less fiber rich things, eating late at night and eating irregularly, then you are not only harming your gut health, but you are also gradually spoiling the gut health of your partner.
A weak microbiome can cause problems like flatulence or gas, decreased immunity, increased swelling, weight gain, blood sugar disturbances, weakened metabolism and these habits spread quickly from one person to another in the house, so one person’s unhealthy routine can affect the entire household.

Every day some new health trend goes viral on social media. Some trends seem strange and some sound healthy. One of these Bean Tok trends is also going viral at the moment. This trend started from Tik Tok and now it is spreading rapidly on the internet also. In this trend it is being claimed that if two cups of beans are eaten then gut health is better.

Some people are even saying that it affects sleep, mood and stress. But is this trend really as effective as it is being said? Let us tell you today what is the Chhaya Bean Tok trend on the internet and is it really effective.

What is Bean Tok trend?

Bean Tok is not a difficult trend. All that is being said in this trend is that eating two cups of beans every day improves the gut microbiota, keeps the stomach full and has a positive effect on health. Actually, beans contain plant protein, fiber complex, carbs and antioxidants which improve digestion and cholesterol. However, two cups of beans is not necessary for everyone. According to experts, eating half to one cup of beans daily can provide substantial benefits. According to the trend, consuming beans in large quantities may cause gas, bloating and digestive problems to many people. Experts say that variety is important in the diet, hence along with beans, protein sources like curd, eggs, lentils and tofu can also be included.

Do beans affect mood and sleep?

Experts say that beans provide essential nutrition to gut bacteria, but the claim that eating two cups of beans daily improves mood, reduces stress and improves sleep is not completely scientifically proven. There is definitely a gut-brain connection, that is, if gut health is good then mood can be indirectly affected. But the talk about eating two cups of beans daily is only based on social media, there is no concrete research on it.

Why is this trend not considered new in Indian diet?

Beans, pulses and legumes have always been a part of the diet in India. Rajma-rice, chickpea-dal and sprouted grains are all included in the Indian plate every day. In such a situation, doctors say that our habit of eating pulses by soaking, boiling or fermenting them improves digestion. In such a situation, beans, pulses and sprouted grains already included in Indian food strengthen gut health. Regarding this trend, experts say that it is beneficial to include fiber-rich beans in the diet, but moderation is most important in this. Increasing its quantity suddenly can cause problems like flatulence and gas. Pulses and beans are present in sufficient quantity in the Indian diet, hence it is not necessary to suddenly eat two cups of beans after seeing some trend.

In today’s fast-paced life, the most ignored part is our intestine. Often people ignore stomach problems considering them minor, whereas our gut health affects almost every process of the body. From digestion to sleep, skin, mood, immunity and energy.

How we wake up in the morning, what we eat and drink, when we sleep and what small habits we adopt throughout the day. All these together make our gut healthy and unhealthy. This is the reason why doctors and researchers around the world emphasize on Gut Health by calling it the second brain. Meanwhile, Dr. Saurabh Sethi, a famous gastroenterologist and hepatologist with 25 years of experience, trained at AIIMS, Harvard and Stanford, has shared very simple but effective habits in an Instagram post. He says that how healthy our stomach will be in the coming years depends on the habits formed today. So let us know what effective rules have been suggested by G AMS-Trend Doctor for better Gut Health.

1. Start the morning not with mobile – Dr. Sethi says that looking at the phone as soon as you wake up increases stress, because cortisol is already high in our body in the morning. Scrolling the screen at this time makes the mind more restless. Instead, take 1–2 minutes to express gratitude for your day. It activates the vagus nerve, which improves both digestion and mood.

2. Take sunlight for 10 minutes in the morning – Light morning sunlight resets the body’s circadian rhythm. This improves Vitamin D, improves mood and balances the intestinal clock, which means it helps your digestive system to function properly throughout the day.

3. Walk for 10 minutes after eating – Doctors believe that a light walk after eating is the easiest way for digestion. Due to this, food gets digested quickly and well, blood sugar does not increase suddenly, and heavy sleep that comes after eating does not occur. Just a 10 minute walk after eating is enough.

4. Eat fermented things three times a week – Fermented things increase good bacteria in the intestine. These include curd, kefir, kimchi and kanji. Dr. Sethi says that there is no need of any capsule for this, natural food is enough.

5. Increase herbs and spices in food and drinks – Traditional spices of India not only enhance the taste but are also a boon for the intestine like turmeric, ginger, cumin, fennel and black pepper. These help in digestion, reduce inflammation in the intestine and strengthen the microbiome.

6. Keep a fixed limit of 12 hours for daily meals – Limit eating from 8 am to 8 pm. This gives adequate rest to the intestine at night, and the detox process improves. Limiting eating time improves digestion, keeps weight under control and improves sleep quality.

7. Eat berries regularly – Berries increase good gut bacteria and reduce oxidative stress in the body. Before eating them, it is advisable to wash them thoroughly with baking soda and water to remove any chemicals.

8. Get good sleep of 7 to 8 hours – Sleep is as important for the intestine as food, Dr. Sethi says that the microbiome repairs itself at night. Staying up late at night not only disturbs digestion but also increases the desire to eat sweets the next day. Therefore, at least 7-8 hours of calm, deep sleep every day is necessary.

According to the Cancer Research Institute, colon cancer cases are increasing by about 2 percent every year in the age of 20 to 39 years from mid -1990s. Experts believe that sadentary lifestyle, lack of exercise and excessive intake of processed food and red meat are the main reasons for this increase.

Dr. Prabhu Nesargikar, Senior Consultant, GI and Peritoneal Cancer and Robotic Surgery, HCG Cancer Center, Bangalore told during a conversation with Hindustan Times that colon cancer starts with small growth or polyps in the large intestine. He said that “Most polyps are harmless, but some can slowly turn into cancer in 10 years if it is not identified and removed on time. Cancer can start from the interiors and spread to deep layers and spread to other parts of the body through blood cells or lymph nodes.”

Risk Factors

Colon includes major factors that increase the risk of cancer;

Gonnetic conditions such as lynch syndrome

Having History Advanced Polyps of colon cancer or polyps in the family

Dr. Nesargikar said that “active screening and removal of polyps on time plays an important role in preventing colon cancer.”

Due to increase in colon cancer

Dr. said that the cause of the increasing rate of cancer in the youth is not completely clear, but smoking, obesity, and not doing physical work are the main reasons. In addition, intestinal inflammation, gut bacteria and nutrition also play a big role. Unhealthy foods, excessive intake of processed meat, lack of fruits and vegetables, and additional weight colon can increase the risk of cancer. “Only 10–20 percent of cases have a role of hereditary conditions. Some medicines, such as the choice of antibiotics and lifestyle, can increase the chances of cancer by affecting Gut Flora,”.

Symptoms, screening and rescue

In the beginning, most patients do not see any symptoms, but abdominal pain, urine blood, urine changing, weight phenomenon, weakness and fatigue may be some signs. Screening should start from 45 years of age for normal risk persons and in the family, Dr. advised to limit alcohol consumption, quit smoking, increase fruits, vegetables and whole grains, increase regular exercise and maintain healthy weight.
