Political temperature has started rising in Bengal. On Wednesday, Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee had a two and a half hour meeting with the Election Commission on the issue of SIR. During this, serious allegations were made against the Central Government and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He said, ‘The answers to the five questions asked last time have not been received. No response was received except on two or three issues. The names of 1 crore 36 lakh people are in doubt, we asked questions about them, but their list has not been given yet.

How many Bangladeshis and Rohingyas were among those whose names were deleted?

He said, ‘If someone is above 60 years of age and is ill, instead of calling him to the Election Commission office, verification can also be done by going to his home. The allegation being made by BJP is that there are 1 crore Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, out of the 58 lakh names that are being removed, how many Bangladeshis and Rohingyas are there? An answer has been sought.

He said, ‘The names which are being removed without asking ERO. The question was asked that the name of the person who did not fill the form should be deleted, but how is the name of the person who filled the form being deleted?

‘The one who knows how to conduct elections is stealing the voter list’

Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘Whoever knows how to conduct elections is stealing from the voter list. There is theft in the voter list. If Congress had caught this then BJP would have lost in Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi and Bihar. The government runs through government circulars and notifications, but the Indian government wants to run India through WhatsApp.

He said, ‘The Election Commission wants to run the country through the Election Commission. They do not want to issue any notification because they know that after doing so, all political parties have the right to take it to court and challenge it.

‘We did not get accurate answers to our questions’

He said, ‘We discussed eight to ten issues. The meeting started at 12 noon and lasted for about two and a half hours. Last time, about a month ago on November 28, a 10-member delegation of our party had come here. We had asked five questions to the Election Commission, but we did not get an accurate answer to even one of them. The same night the Election Commission selectively leaked information to some journalists and claimed that they had answered every question. Immediately after this, I had tweeted saying that Trinamool Congress has digital evidence and the Election Commission had not answered any of our questions.

He said, ‘This time too we did not get any clarity on any issue except two-three points. When I ask him about SIR, he diverts the conversation to the issue of citizenship. No concrete answer was found on any question. He was talking to us by pointing fingers, I said you are nominated and we are elected.

He asked, ‘After the draft list, we have come to know that 89% of the people have been mapped. Who is responsible for the mentality of demeaning Bengal?

‘Gyanesh Kumar was sent to destroy the country’

Before becoming the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar was the Cooperative Secretary in the Cooperative Ministry. Suddenly he is made the Chief Election Commissioner, he was sent here so that he can ruin the country. Can destroy this constitutional institution.

‘Amit Shah also targeted’

During this, Abhishek Banerjee also targeted Home Minister Amit Shah. He said, ‘Use as much strength as you want, we will win the elections, the public is with us, if Congress had caught hold of this, then Congress would not have lost the elections. I would ask all the opposition parties to take this issue seriously, the votes are not being stolen from the EVMs, they are being stolen from the voter list.

He said, ‘Never before this had the voters been put under a cloud of doubt. Earlier the voters used to decide whose government will be formed and who will become the Prime Minister, but now the government and the Prime Minister decide who will become the voters.

‘You won’t have to take to the streets just to be seen on TV’

On the question of ABP News alleging Rahul Gandhi’s vote theft, Abhishek Banerjee said that if you want to raise the issue then you will have to take to the streets and your workers will have to work. Nothing is achieved just by appearing on TV and making allegations, if you keep saying anything while sitting on TV then it will not stop vote theft. When the final voter list comes and there are irregularities in it, the fight will not end there, then we will take the fight forward legally.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the youth and Gen Z voters, made allegations of vote theft in Haryana and Bihar. He said that large-scale manipulation was done in the state to snatch public opinion and the government was formed through this theft. Rahul Gandhi said that he showed with evidence how the government was formed in Haryana by stealing votes. He says that this process took away the public opinion of the entire state.

Rahul Gandhi started Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar
A few days ago, Rahul Gandhi had also started ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. Congress says that its purpose was to make the public aware about the manipulation in the voter list through SIR. Rahul Gandhi said that today the news and videos coming from every corner of Bihar are further strengthening the chain of evidence of vote theft.

Accusations against polling stations and BJP leaders
Rahul Gandhi alleged that already the names of lakhs of voters had been removed from the list, and now people were being stopped from voting at the polling stations. He also said that many BJP leaders and workers, who had earlier voted in other states, are now voting in Bihar also.

Sharp attack on Election Commission
Rahul Gandhi described the top officials of the Election Commission – Gyanesh Kumar, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi as the biggest ones playing with democracy and voting rights. He said that those who were made the guardians of the voting rights have now become partners in the theft of the future.

Special Intensive Revision: The Election Commission of India can announce the dates for the first phase of Special Intensive Revision today. For this, a press conference is being organized under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at 4:15 pm. According to reports, 10 to 15 states will be included in this phase. Especially those states in which assembly elections are going to be held in the coming time. Like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry. In the meantime, let us know whether a special intensive vetting process is done in Pakistan or not.

How does voter registration work in Pakistan

Like India, Pakistan also uses a document-based system for voter registration and identification. The required document for this is the computerized national identity card. It has been issued by the National Database and Registration Authority. Let us tell you that in Pakistan, every citizen of 18 years of age or above can register as a voter. The only condition is that he should be of sound mind and have a valid computerized national identity card. At the time of registration, a person has to provide his permanent or temporary address which is used to determine his constituency. In Pakistan, the voter list is directly linked to the National Register of Citizens, which contains the biometric data of every registered person.

what is the process

First of all, citizens go to the National Database and Registration Authority or the regional office of the Election Commission with their computerized national identity card for registration. After this, all the information in the Computerized National Identity Card is verified with the biometric database of the National Database and Registration Authority to ensure authenticity.

The voter’s address on the computerized National Identity Card determines his polling station and constituency. The final lists are updated timely before the elections, as is the case with electoral roll revision in India under special intensive vetting.

Similarities and differences between India and Pakistan

Both countries use a strong document-based voter system. But the verification methods are slightly different between the two countries. The Election Commission in India accepts a number of documents for verification. Like voter identity card, Aadhar card and 11 other prescribed documents. India’s SIR process ensures that new voters are added and errors or duplicates in the voter lists are corrected.

Whereas in Pakistan, computerized National Identity Card works as the only and necessary proof for voter identity. The integration of the biometric database of the National Database and Registration Authority makes Pakistan’s verification system much stronger.

On the one hand, political parties are busy with the Assembly elections in Bihar, on the other hand, the Election Commission has also completed its preparations. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has said that the assembly elections in Bihar will be held before 22 November as the term of Bihar Legislative Assembly is till 22 November. During this, he said that Sir will be done in the whole country like Bihar.

The Chief Election Commissioner said that the new initiatives initiated by the Commission in this election will be implemented in the whole country in future. Bihar has a total of 243 assembly seats and elections will be held on time. The entire team of Election Commission has been active in Bihar for two days. During this time, the team has held meetings with political parties, administrative election officials, top administrative officials, enforcement agencies, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Special Police Nodal Officer (SPNO), and Nodal Police Force (CAPF) nodal officers in Patna, so that preparations for the election can be fully ensured.

Election Commission gave this big information

The Election Commission said that now there will be no more than 1200 voters at any polling booth. This system will improve both voting process and security. BLO (BOUSH Level Officer) will now contact voters directly and they have been provided ID cards for ease of identity. Apart from this, the facility to vote by depositing mobiles has also been started, so that voters do not bring mobile to polling booths.

100% webcasting at polling station

The Chief Election Commissioner said that one-stop digital platform will be implemented in Bihar. Now every candidate can deploy his agent up to 100 meters from the booth. All polling stations will have 100% webcasting. The EVM will now have colorful photos and ballot paper with colorful photos and serial numbers instead of black and white ballot paper, which will make the identity of the candidates easier and make the voting process transparent.

Preparations for Bihar assembly elections have now intensified. In this episode, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) will visit Bihar on 4 and 5 October along with Dnyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi. During this time, the team of the Commission will review the administrative and security arrangements in the state.

This high -level tour is taking place at a time when the Election Commission is going to release the final voter list on 30 September on the basis of special intensive revision (SIR). Opposition parties have questioned this process, alleging that millions of real voters can be deprived of it. However, the Election Commission has dismissed these allegations outright and said that the aim of SIR is to make the electoral system more transparent.

Commission team will assess the ground situation

The current term of Bihar Legislative Assembly ends on 22 November. In such a situation, new assembly elections are set to be held in the state. According to officials, the Commission team will sit with senior administrative and police officers of the state in Patna and assess the ground situation. This process is usually done before the formal announcement of the election.

Elections can be held in three to four stages

Sources say that after the visit of Bihar, it is possible to announce the election schedule by the Election Commission in a few days. Based on previous experiences, it is expected that this time also elections can be held in Bihar in three to four stages. However, this time there is also a challenge of festivals before the Commission because the electoral atmosphere will be between big festivals like Diwali and Chhath. The commission is already alert to protect voters from any inconvenience.

How many stages were held first?

The history of assembly elections in Bihar has also been witness to phased voting. In the year 2020, elections were held in three phases on October 28, 3 November and 7 November. The results were declared on 10 November. At the same time, elections were held in five phases in 2015, while in 2010, voting was held in six phases. In 2005, elections were held in three phases in February twice and in three phases in October.

Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar. The latest update is that the election can be announced anytime after 6 October. Dates can be announced by the Election Commission. The Election Commission has sent a letter to the Chief Secretary of Bihar Government, Praty, Amrit. Instructions have been given to complete the transfer process in all departments.

In fact, in the letter of the Election Commission (Bihar), it has been said to give information about all transfer-posting till October 6. In such a situation, it is believed that after this, the date of Bihar Assembly Election 2025 can be revealed anytime. This letter has been issued by the Election Commission (Bihar) on the date of 23 September. The letter is signed by Vinod Singh Gunjial, who is the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar.

(Read below what is written in the letter issued)

If sources are to be believed, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will also come to Bihar. Apart from the Chief Secretary, the Election Commission has also written a letter to the Director General of Police of the State, Development Commissioner and Principal Secretary of all the departments.

Preparations are going on loudly for elections

Please tell that Bihar has 243 seats in Bihar. The main contest is between the NDA and India alliance. However, this time the entry of Prashant Kishore, the architect of Jan Suraj, will be exciting. All the parties are preparing loudly about the election. If there is a journey somewhere, a conference is being held somewhere. Just on Wednesday, the Congress Working Committee met in Patna. In this, many senior leaders of the party including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi had arrived. It can be said about the Bihar elections that the leaders of every party have given full strength. Now it has to be seen that the result comes in favor of whose election.

At this time, the most discussed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) is about Gyanesh Kumar. The special intensive revision campaign (SIR) of Voter List in Bihar and the allegations of ‘vote theft’ by the opposition have further heated the entire case. Opposition parties say that the role of the Election Commission does not look fair and that is why they are now preparing to take big steps. There are reports that the India alliance is considering bringing impeachment motion against Gyanesh Kumar in the Parliament.

Is it really easy to remove CEC?

Article 324 of the Constitution gives the status of an independent institution to the Election Commission. That is, the Election Commission separates from the government and works. This is the reason that removing the Chief Election Commissioner is not like removing a general officer. They can only be removed through impeachment. CEC is protected just like a Supreme Court judge. This means that they cannot withdraw from their posts until the impeachment motion is passed against them in both houses of Parliament.

Process of impeachment

To bring impeachment, the first Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha is proposed in any one House. If the two-thirds majority of the members present in the House vote in favor of this proposal, then it is considered to be passed. After this, the same proposal goes to another house and it is also necessary to pass with a two-thirds majority. After passing both houses, the President issues the order and only then the Chief Election Commissioner can be removed from his post.

How much salary and facilities do CEC get?

Now if we talk about the salary and facilities of Dnyanesh Kumar, then the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners get equal salary to the judges of the Supreme Court. According to reports, his monthly salary is around 3.5 lakh rupees.

What facilities are available
