The procession being taken out on the occasion of Ravidas Jayanti on Sunday (February 1) in Bhagwanpur of Haridwar district became an arena of violence. Incidents of firing and stone pelting have come to light from two sides during the procession. One youth has died in this, while many people are reported to be injured.

During the procession of Sant Ravidas Jayanti in Bhagwanpur, the situation went out of control when the dispute between two parties of the Dalit community suddenly turned into a bloody conflict. Within no time, firing and stone pelting started from both sides, in which many people were seriously injured.

After an argument over some issue, things got so bad that it reached the point of firing. Firing started rapidly from both sides. A 28 year old youth was injured in this. Who was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Due to his condition becoming serious during treatment, doctors declared him dead.
