India vs South Africa 2nd ODI is being played in Raipur. Team India is ahead 1-0 in the 3-match series. The ICC said in its statement that Harshit was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Staff, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures that insult a batsman when he is out during an international match, or which is likely to anger the batsman.”

This is Harshit Rana’s first mistake in the last 24 months. The Indian fast bowler admitted his mistake and also accepted the punishment given by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

In the India vs South Africa 1st ODI played in Ranchi, Harshit Rana took the wicket of Dewald Brevis as his third wicket, who had hit a ‘no look’ six in his previous over. When Harshit dismissed Dewald Brevis in the 22nd over, he became very excited and pointed towards the pavilion with his finger. The ICC said in its statement that it was considered that this could have given the batsman an opportunity to give an aggressive reaction. One demerit point was added to the disciplinary record of Harshit Rana.
