Women health tips: A report has revealed that hormonal contraceptive pills, especially the risk of cryptogenic stroke may be three times higher in young women using estrogen and progestin combination pills. Cryptogenic stroke is one that has no clear cause and it causes cases of ischemic stroke up to 40% in young adults.

Contraceptive pills may increase the risk of stroke

Despite this increasing health threat, the risks of strokes associated with contraceptive drugs have not yet been noticed. This study has been done by Doctor Mine Sejgin and his team of Istanbul University. He said that this research shows that birth control pills can increase the risk of stroke, and this danger remains even when the rest of the risks are also taken into account. From this it seems that it may have genetic (hereditary) or some other reasons inside the body.

Research involved 268 women

This research included 268 women aged 18 to 49 years, who had a cryptogenic stroke. They were compared to 268 women who had never been stroke. This research was done in 14 medical centers in Europe. Doctors say that women who are already patients of heart or veins or who have a history of stroke, must consult a doctor before taking birth control pills.

What did the doctors advise?

Dr. Sejgin said that this research will motivate doctors and women-both of them to take a thoughtful decision on the use of anti-vaginal pills, especially when the woman has any health problems in advance. Researchers will now try to further find out why the hormone contraceptive pills increase the risk of stroke, so that the and hereditary (genetic) causes inside the body behind it can be better understood. This report was recently introduced in the European Stroke Organization Conference 2025 in the city of Helsinki, Finland.

Burt-Hog-Dubey syndrome which is a disease?

Scientists at Cambridge University studied over 5.5 lakh people. In this, he found that one in every 2,710 to 4,190 has a special type of gene called FLCN in his body, which is at risk of a disease called Burt-Hog-Dubey syndrome. The Burt-Hog-Dubey syndrome is a rare genetic (generation from generation) disease. In this, small lumps like tumors are made on the skin, cysts (lumps) are formed in the lungs and the risk of kidney (kidney) cancer increases. But it is not necessarily the reason for every lung burst.

Danger of lung hole

The study, which was printed in a magazine called ‘Thorax’, found that the patients who had a disease called Burt-Hog-Dubey syndrome were 37 percent of the lifestyle of lungs. However, in a large group of people changing FLCN genes, this danger was reduced to 28 percent. Talking about kidney cancer, it was up to 32% in people with Burt-Hog-Dubey syndrome, while only 1% in people with this poor gene, but in people without disease. Professor Marsiniaq of the University of Cambridge said that he was surprised to know that there was no disease but there was no disease, the risk of kidney cancer was very low. This may mean that not only this gene is responsible for the disease, but there may be some other reasons.

Treat air or liquid from the lungs – doctors

The study also revealed that every 200 long and thin teenagers or young men may have problems with lung punctures. In most cases this discomfort is cured on its own, or doctors treat air or liquid from the lungs. If a person’s lung is punctured and does not usually fit in the symptoms of the disease (like if he is forty years old), the doctors examine his lungs by MRI. If the MRI shows cysts (lumps) in the lower lungs, then there is a possibility that the person has a burt-hog-dube syndrome. Professor Marsiniaq says, “If someone has a Burt-Hog-Dube syndrome, it is important to know, because other people of his family may also be at risk of kidney cancer.”

The good thing is that the problem of lung puncture often occurs 10-20 years before the symptoms of kidney cancer. This means that if the disease is identified in time, then kidney cancer can be caught and cured by regular checkup and monitoring.
